I use a grading scraper to groom my drive. Don't see a SS doing that. At least not very well.

I have a tractor and a skid steer. I bought a Road Boss LPGS and always use it with my skid steer. I have never even hooked it to my tractor. It works great on the skid steer. I have a 100' x 200' or so gravel equipment yard I maintain with it as well as a about a mile of dirt roads. The way it is designed you can hook the skid steer on either side so you can push it the normal way for aggressive action or you can flip it around for the final smoothing without digging in.

6 months after I bought my tractor I realised I'd made 2 mistakes: the first was buying a backhoe. The second was not buying a skidsteer. Buying a skid steer would have been better for the majority of the work I do.

Backhoe tasks are done much easier by using a rental mini-x

I've been gainfully employed for 36 years with good retirement plan and 401k. Then my retirement pension got frozen at 21 years of service, we had two kids, the economy tanked, the company I work for is on the skids and I'm 55..... and better off than most folks, so not complaining here!!! :laughing: I planned on working till 67. I may be able to retire at 63 when my last gets done with college. All things considered, we're right on track with how we thought things would go. The key was the 401K. We've always put 15% into it, rain or shine. Glad we did. Many of my coworkers were counting on the pension alone. Now their struggling to save for retirement. We are fortunate. Knock on wood! :thumbsup:

A skid steer would work better for most of my work except one major draw back. 85 percent of the work I do is either on grass or concrete. The concrete is severely weathered and chipping up and would quickly wear the tires off. The skid steer would be too destructive to use on the grass.
