Batteries seem to have worked underwater for these.

Well, at least the engine would get cleaned. I'm sure they would use sealed batteries so I doubt there would be much excitement.


Sea water and lead acid batteries = Chlorine Gas which is a problem in an airtight vessel 1200 feet below the surface while trying to be silent .
Last batteries I seen for that application were 2.2volts each and about the size of a 30 gallon barrel but square instead of round. Heavy copper buss bar is bolted between lug to lug to series the bank up to a nominal voltage of 250V. The current capacity is so high that each battery has two negative terminals and two positive terminals. Ventilation of the hydrogen , oxygen and SO2 fumes methods vary with the application. Sometimes a demineralized water addition system is also plumbed in.

The green weenies are sure that Star Trek technology is real along with a 50mpg fleet average . That isn't going to happen unless a majority of vehicles all electric . POTUS or not the laws of physics take presidence over human laws.

Yup, batteries are heavy. If a Prius battery weights just under 400lbs., I wonder how heavy a 4x4 truck battery would be that has to tow 10K lbs.??? Now if it had a little diesel to power electric motors on all four wheels (like a locomotive engine) then that could be cool. Problem is I don't think it would be a "little" engine. I've seen what the 4WD Tesla needs power wise and you could power a few houses with that kind of wattage!
