Good to hear you got it out of there, that could have been a bigger nightmare if it was still in there and you got some rain!!!!

Yeah. Just my pride was hurt. I got the two inch Honda pump still in the sump hole and primed. From time to time, right now, I have to crank it up to pump out seepage. The ground is still wet here. Guess the 3/8th inch of rain on Sunday really helped me going sliding. Yesterday morning, the dump truck got slip stuck where I load it...and once where I dump the spoils. At least all that is good training for Luke helping get the CAT out.

Glad you got out of it all right!

Hope you get the hydraulics corrected.
Can you find a service manual?

Often a dealer will help just out of sympathy.

A few years ago i fell in my pond also, at night. (stupid)

The dipper got compressed under the boom.

I was wearing diapers when I swung the house around to finally claw my way up the bank.
I was real close to rolling it nose first.

Most excavators can't swim.

For the grace of God go I.

Mike,
The guys on Heavy Equipment Forum say most older excavators can't walk and chew gum at the same time. Another words, might be nothing wrong with my hydraulics, except for being old and worn some.

It's a grey market Mitsubishi. CAT rebranded it and ripped off the data plate.Believe me, I have spent hours online trying to find one that fits my machine. I was lucky to find the engine and machine parts manuals behind the seat when I bought it. I didn't try to swing around and claw my way out, as I had a 4 foot ditching bucket and didn't wanna put my azz back facing the muck, which was 2-3 feet deep.

I was told by the shop that redid my bucket and stick bushings that since it is a grey market machine, CAT might report it to the gov. and EPA. It has happened before they said. Don't any thing like that, so I basically cut ties with CAT. Besides, I never got any oil sample reports when I sent samples into CAT.

I am starting to get the hang of resloping my bank. I also made perches to keep from sliding down. Once I have a stretch of the lower bank cleaned, I take out the perch and reslope that. It's going slow, but I'm all alone. I keep pumping out the sump hole, but mud catfish babies keep clogging it up. So intermittant pumping, dumping, policing the loading zone with the loader bucket, and the heat really slow me up. I really need two other people helping me. I'm also backdragging the slope with the loader bucket when it dries a bit.

Hey girl, my hat is off to you. You are one gusty person willing to take care of business by yourself. I believe your mistakes have already taught you to be extra careful. You are evidently the kind of person who decides something must be done and jumps right in to do it come **** or high water.
