I did have Deere come pick up a 5400 that had a recall issue, but warranty repairs are different.

I pressure wash my tractor engine at least once per year.
Pressure wash the trucks, pavers, chippers, skid steers, and other equipment engines every fall at work.

At the car dealership the used cars all went to the wash rack.... inside, outside and engine compartment.

Of course you had to know what you were doing in the engine compartment... only one guy did the engines... he would bag off areas and was very careful with pressure and where he pointed the wand... we would go through cases of Gunk

There are dealers and then there are good dealers. A good dealer DOES come out to look at your tractor under warranty and doesn't charge you. I had the engine rebuilt for my Cat and had a problem where it lost oil pressure. They sent a mechanic out in a service truck to check it out no charge. The engine had to be pulled again because the oil pump gear sheared a couple teeth off. I took the engine out and brought it to them and they pulled it apart and fixed it. Then it was using too much oil so they sent out a service truck again and took the head off and then a 3rd time brought out another rebuilt head. 3 trips round trip no charge. I think it's important to note my property is at least a 2 hour round trip from their location and they normally charge well over $100/hr from the time they leave the shop. Counting the time it was over a full day on their dime so close to $1000 in service no charge. That's called customer service. If I bought a multi-thousand dollar new tractor and had a problem that wasn't an easy fix for my skill set, I would expect the dealer to come out and look at it or send their truck out to pick up at no charge or give me my money back.

It is a VERY common business model for dealers to only offer warranty repairs at the dealers shop.
We may not like it,,, tractors can be tough to move.
I kinda have to defend the dealers position on this.

Have it fixed at the dealer,,, for free,,, (you move the tractor)

or

pay for transport of the technician to the tractor.

When did you ever see a service truck equipped with a pressure washer?

I had to move a new JD 4020 60 miles for warranty repair with an old cab-over Ford truck.
That was in 1970,, so this is not a new concept.
The guy I was working for just thought it was part of tractor ownership.

I don't think a pressure washer is an uncommon tool to find on a service truck that comes to the job site to work on equipment. I honestly haven't seen a good mobile tech without one since the early 80's. That was at a mining company and they would radio the truck that watered down the roads in an effort to keep dust down and they would come hose down the equipment prior to being worked on if it needed it.

I wonder if a HST was available in the supply chain? If so yes they could have pulled it and air freighted it the next day. Considerable cost to the manufacturer but that would have been great customer service. Just think of all the positive press Mahindra would have received on this thread.
