I have a Kubota BH-92 and I'll be working along the side of a hill on a flat area putting in a wall. I need to trench along the edge where I am putting the wall and the bucket on the backhoe is too large. Other than going to the dealer what options do I have for a bucket? It is not a quick attach bucket on there now and don't see a lot of changing going on, just between the trenching bucket and the one I have on there. Are there any low priced buckets that will interchange with my BH-92? If not, where could I order a Kubota bucket without going to the dealer.

What size bucket do you have now?

It's a BT3003A 18" bucket. I was hoping to get down to a 10" or 12".

I think I spent close to a grand for my 12" H&H (who make buckets for Kubota in Canada) custom made bucket.

I didn't have any options. Nice bucket but clean out can be a PITA, depending on soil type.

Buckets can be expensive. Why won't the 18" inch work?

The 18" will definitely do the work, but the wall stones I'm using say to bury one course and build up from there and the last wall I dug by hand. Not very deep only about 10" deep and 8" wide, but what a pain. It runs about 70' and this time I have the backhoe and want to avoid the heavy hand work as I'm a lot older now.

I would use the 18" bucket to dig down and buy or rent a 15" wide plate compactor to smooth out the trench bottom. I have built several walls for my customers and find that there is still a lot of hand labor in these jobs. On slopes there are constant stepping and a shovel is often the best tool for the job.

I bought a 10 inch for my Mahindra .. 400 bucks. Check the measurements on yours and see a Mahindra dealer with those dimensions. The bucket might fit

Oldpilgrim, I like the way you think, I was in the Army Engineers 1968 - 71 Viet Nam 69-70 and also a Life Member of the NRA. We have to keep fighting the AG and the other pols in this state who infringe on our rights and freedoms. It's hard to believe we live in a state where freedom began over 200 years ago and where it ended due to socialism and a one party system. On to the real topic, I probably will go along with jenkinsph and use the 18" bucket and backfill to the wall.
