Anyone Using Edge Tamers on Thier Buckets for Snow Plowing?

Wow this is an interesting thread. The whole first page is a bunch of people bashing a product they've never used!

I run 3 on a big snow bucket and it beats the snot out of any pipe material I've tried (steel, various plastics, all broke or wore through super fast). They are very durable. Slide effortlessly. Keep my gravel in place and allow me to push snow at a high rate of speed without worrying about tearing something up. They come on and off very quickly, just keep a ratchet with you on the tractor.

Each snowfall I clear snow off of an assortment of gravel, broken up asphalt, and brand knew pristine asphalt driveways, about 1/2 mile of lane in total per storm. For that mix of surfaces you can't beat them and you can take them off quickly to scrape down when desired.

I don't think they will mount well on blower because of the shape Jon, you might try this place-I've read good things about them:

I think I would have to drill my own mounting holes for these to work. The original skids on the Kubota BX2230 blower have the skids under the blower, not on the side. Need to look into this before winter sets in. Thanks, Jon

I just ordered these, and they will likely NEVER be used by me for snow plowing.
I spend winters in Florida, but my tractors are in New England.
I intend to use these on a bucket when pushing brush.
I do have forks, but the forks are quite long, and if the bucket angle is not exactly correct the forks will dig.
I think these Edge Tamers should be perfect for my use.

Spoke to a representative from R2 Manufacturing who was staffing an exhibit at the Empire Farm Days (Empire Farm Days - All the Excitement of Northeast Ag in Just One Place!) in Central New York this week (August 8-10, 2017). The Edge Tamer caught my eye, especially since I live in an area that averages nearly 10' of snow annually. I was impressed at the quality and simplicity, yet concerned that the exposed bolt threads that extend through the unit would be damaged by rocks once a Tamer is connected, rendering the unit difficult to remove. The representative allayed my concerns by his claim of superior bolt hardness and a design that would still allow the unit to be easily removed without even fully removing the bolt. I didn't have the coin to buy a set at the time, but of all the gadgets I saw at that show, both the Edge Tamer, and the related Edge Extender, piqued my interest the most. Have not used my set yet but very heavy duty and well made.

I use them. Live in the land of lake effect snow. We average 80+ inches a year. Drive is gravel. Wouldn't want to plow with bucket without them. They are HEAVY. Absolutely zero problems with the bolts. Been using them for 2 years.

They go on and off easily. I do not need to fully remove the bolt to do so either.

I highly reccomend them.

I also have the edge extenders. I am just meh on those. Useful to move logs, empty pallets and the like. If you already have forks just use those. If you don't have forks save the money on the extenders and invest in clamp on forks.

I have real forks.
Seems to me, that unless lifting feathers, "clamp on forks" are the perfect way to bend/mangle the front edge of your bucket.
