I'm not going to waste any more time reading the posts of the guys who actually did turn my comment into a war. Ironically calling us trolls for just bringing up another perspective on shooting a quad in the wild.

Think about it a second and read what was actually said.. I was just kind of joking when I said bagged an antlerless old guy! But it would be serious to shoot the quad of a disabled person or a partially diabled person. That's all I was trying to say.

As to the amount of "Wilderness in ohio" not a lot; we have farm ground and woods. You want to talk about people getting mad.. ride your quad through a soybean field in Ohio.. also illegal and destruction of private property. But we still don't shoot the quad.. well IDK my FIL may LOL

Your point was that if a trespasser was a vet or disabled the consequences of taking thier ride out could be really bad.

My point was that the rule is nobody rides 4 wheelers in wilderness, doesn't matter the background of the trespasser.

Both are valid points.

The discussion of trespassers rights is a tough one as we have seen all sorts of interesting turns from homeowners getting in trouble for defending thier home and property. I dont' see trespassers as having many rights but some others do, especially depending on the background of the trespasser.

Should a bank be sued if the bankrobber gets an ink pack in the face and hurts his vision? I dont' think so but some will argue otherwise. That is the beauty of this country as we area all allowed to see things how we want.

As to the OP hopefully he will be done with these trespassers after this year. That sounds really frustrating.

No where in the US does criminal trespassing bring the death penalty. Not at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., not in MO, no where. Shirley there would be repercussions for the person that disabled the vehicle if it were proven a death was the result.

And in post #47, you quoted that first (and only post of his to that point) and called him a troll. So it would appear to me that the personal attack / name calling (at least as far as square1 is concerned) originated from YOU.

But again, I say.....be the bigger man. Stop calling everyone a troll who shares a different opinion.

I can tell there is a lot of passion in the west for protecting the wilderness. I guess I would liken it to a discussion around here on people riding quads in planted crops.. that would probably stir up the farmers on this site to be pretty passionate also.

My posts edited by the mods so often.....:laughing: Didnt know we were keeping score. But the many posts I have posted here, I can probably count on both hand the number of my posts that has been edited/deleted. And only one that I can think of in the past year. The thread where you and others, again werent open to a different opinion, and whined until you got your way. Which is why I left and unsubscribed from that thread.

This thread will probably make # 2 for the year in which I may get posts edited. Funny.....you were the hot topic in both.....

Wild places are really special. It's a tough balance to strike but in general it seem that people have little respect for public or private land when it comes to hunting. I'd say the OP had a pretty good reason to be mad at trespassers. I can't imagine watching someone pulling the shenanigans he spoke about.

We own a few acres and it is scattered across four parcels of land. I know it sometimes is hunted by others and sometimes maybe by accident or to pick up deer shot on their land. But for most part no real issues I am aware of. Have found tree stand on it and took it down so they knew it was found and not allowed and that was 20 years ago and never saw it again.

While I am not a police person of any type two things have been mentioned here have seen one prosecuted for and think the other would also be. The making loud noise on your property just to interfere with a legal hunter on adjoining property was a big issue on one of the tv game warden shows. Not sure the state and that may vary between states. They were able to prove the noise was not real work related.
Second while a four wheeler may be illegal where it is really believe your shooting it would also be illegal. Just because someone does something illegal does not make it legal for another to do something else illegal, think it might be called taking the law into your hands. I also suspect if the shooting the four wheel were to lead to the death of the operator you would face legal action.

Now such laws vary from state to state. I am not taking sides in a contest here.

You remember the thread. It was just last week you were calling someone an idiot. Actually it was the alternate tractor thread. You called multi mow all sorts of names and the mods had to clean it up. I know of 2 threads recently now that I think about it. Just because someone has a different opinion than you does not mean they are stupid or an idiot.
