Kioti has teamed up with Woods

Well I don't think I'd call it deception, deception is when someone intentionally takes steps to make something seem what it's not for some nefarious reason, this is simply one company contracting another company to build their implements. I'd rather see tractor brands go with rebrands from experienced quality implement manufacturers than get their stuff from who knows where China.

I would like to see them brand it Kioto by Woods as they did with the cabelas line simply to keep the consumer more informed as to what they're getting and give them an easier route to get specs and compare while shopping

No argument from me. Just a difference in definition. What I highlighted in your post is exactly what Kioti is doing. "Nefarious" meaning monetary gain. :)

That just about sums up us Kioti owners.:D

Murph, don't get people riled up. I'm still recuperating from the "leaking hydraulic cylinder" fiasco..... :D

How about pricing? Who will be cheaper, the Woods dealer or Kioti?

It's the same dealer here

Aye MTD did something like that too. You look at all the riding mower out there they all have a brand names and colors but they are all made by MTD. Just sayin.

Everyone in the <60 horsepower, "residential" tractor segment has to envy Kubota its success. Clearly, having Kubota and Land Pride implements (and now Vermeer implements) in the yard, color matched to Kubota tractors, and seamlessly mixable into '0' finance, has been a BIG one stop shopping advantage for Kubota.

Marketing requires distinct mind set and distinct skills from manufacturing. Woods' web site has been underwhelming forever. Fine equipment, underwhelming marketing. (I am always surprised not to see Woods as an exhibitor at the huge Sunbelt Ag Expo in Moultrie, Georgia, each September.) Both Woods and Kioti must expect this to be a win/win combination. Ceteris paribus, I expect more Woods/Kioti equipment will soon be sold in Canada and Mexico through Kioti dealers, for instance. As Land Pride has incrementally come under 100% Kubota ownership and Vermeer probably will, watch to see if the same does not happen to Woods with Kioti over the next decade.

In every international business today it is GROW OR DIE.

If I were Piranha Tooth Bars, for one, this Kioti/Woods arrangement would make me nervous.

LS (Korean) tractor dealers too.

The relationship Kubota has with Land Pride is different than the relationship Woods has with its OEM partners. As I recall, Kubota bought our Land Pride lock, stock and barrel. Kioti's relationship with Woods sounds like Deere, Massey and whomever else's relationship in that Woods serves as the manufacturer for the implement line sold through OEM branded dealerships. Woods has a good reputation so it is good for OEMs to keep the Woods name on attachments sold through their dealerships just as Woods has kept the Gannon name on its commercial box scrapers for the name recognition.

That's really cool that you can swap out the rake for a blade. Sort of a tool carrier.

I'd need to ask Ted or Travis for confirmation, but I believe the swapping of a blade and rake feature sort of evolved because I wanted a rake I could hydraulically control from my cab which is a feature that had been reserved for heavy blades up until EA built one. When I do start using this tool, EA will get some nifty videos out of it raking lake shore, raking branch litter, and smoothing logging ruts with it.

Let me try to clear a few things up for all the naysayers and "know-it-alls". Kioti desperately needed an implement line. Their previous arrangement w/ Tarter didn't pan out too well, low quality equipment and a very limited "menu". Woods gives Kioti a good quality product , one that is well known and has a broad selection of up to @ 250 different products in most of their categories. The only product they won't have access to are the dirt working buckets, etc. side, the flail shredders, backhoes and loaders. They will have a full selection of cutters up to 20', rear blades, boxes, tillers etc.. Basically the whole core line.

One thing you have to realize is, Kioti, Kubota, LS or whoever are tractor makers, not implement manufacturers. That is not their business, where as L.P., Woods, Rhino or others are in the business of making implements, not tractors. So if a tractor company wants implements, then they need to partner w/ someone like Kioti is doing or purchase like Kubota did w/ L.P..
As far as the name reflecting Kioti and not Woods, what's it matter? It's all what the 2 companies decide. In the this case they both made the decision to put the Kioti name only on it.
Woods doesn't care. The SN tag on all the implements states Woods so it not a total secret.
Look at Frontier. They have more than 20 companies making the implements for them and none of them say John Deere or manufactured by_______. It says Frontier only.

For the poster who said he doesn't like his woods dealers, sorry, you (anyone) will not be able to get Woods parts through a Kioti dealer. Only parts for that particular Kioti piece. Now if it fits a Woods product then ok, you can get it. All replacement parts will be black. But you will not be able to get a belt for a 20 yr. old RM59 finish mower or something for your Woods loader or backhoe from the Kioti dealer.
All parts will be ordered through Kioti but shipped from Woods. Kioti at this point is not stocking parts at their warehouse. Also, all implement orders for Kioti will be shipped directly from Woods to the dealer on Woods trucks.

Pretty simple and straight forward until everyone starts putting their own spin on it.

Oh, forgot the pricing question. They will be in line w/ Woods as far as I know, they are less than L.P. in several categories including tillers, but you have to compare light vs. light and med. vs. med. duty. In some cases L.P. might have a light and Woods/Kioti may only offer a med. duty. L.P. is less on light blades vs. Woods.
