Can you put some type of spacer on the top link so the PHD can't wobble back and forth on the pin? I think that is all I would do.

I hooked up my new Speeco 65 post hole digger to my LS XG3037 today, but not sure this is correct:

As you can see, the bracket on the boom of the PHD (2" wide) will not fit inside the top link mounting bracket (inside clearance is 1.75") which forced me to offset it. Is this normal or am I missing a piece that should do between the boom bracket and the tip link mounting bracket? Any help would be greatly appreciated. First time hooking up and using a PHD. Thanks.

Normally the attachment top link would go between the tractor's top link tabs. But in this case, I don't see it as a problem.

Spacers would definitely fill in the empty space and reduce any wobble. Great idea! Thanks.

You could grind off a bit of the U shaped bracket to make it fit, BUT it will work just fine as it is. The mfg. made a little error in fabrication when he bent that bracket, but it seems you got around it OK.
I concur. You should fix it, but it's very debatable if I would bother if it were mine. I'd likely just run it like you set it up, maybe with some washers as spacers to keep the slop out... Maybe, if I was motivated.

Good to hear that it works properly, as stated earlier, i'd get in touch with the manufacturer & see what they recommended. There really isn't a lot of stress on that point, like you said, stopping the wobble would help.

Seems like adding any adapter will just reduce the height you can raise the PHD.
As long as the pin isn't sloppy in the holes you're good. (i.e. if diameters are good, it doesn't matter if it's sloppy side to side?)
As connected right now, both tractor brackets are still sharing the load.

My vote is for "it's good, don't worry about it."

Yes you definitely have it assembled correctly. I agree that it looks as if the tabs are not welded correctly either need to be narrower or wider. (all the ones I've seen have been narrower) I would consider contacting the manufacturer and checking the specs with them for a return or a replacement. That being said I'm sure you could use it the way it is just keep an eye on it. if you notice it's starting to bend your pin consider returning it for a replacement. The washers for spacers are a great idea if you're not going to return it. I think I have the same unit I will try to remember to measure how wide mine is and post it here.

No helpers anywhere near the pto shaft or auger when operating. No matter if the auger need some weight or help to dig in.
Having helpers arms and legs torn off is all too common. One of the reasons why a hydraulic driven PHD bolted to the loader bucket is so much superior .

I'd use spacers and go with it the way it is. Post hole diggers make me very nervous. Saw a very large hydraulic unit mounted on a Nodwell that had the massive U-joint fail and half of the U-joint got flung about 70 feet and right thru the side of a new F-450. Some very nervous telephone workers on site for a while.

That happened in 1971 and I remember it as clearly as if it were yesterday.
