I should have broken my last post (Will I fit?) into two separate posts. Does anyone have any experience with Miska dump trailers? I was looking at having a 5T with a 6*12 box upgrade but the 6T comes this way and would probably cost less. They also have a tube frame/ scissor lift model and a channel frame telescopic hoist under another. I not really a trailer guy so any advice will be helpful.
P.S. You can see the trailers and their spec's at miskatrailer.com

Sorry. I had to delete my post. My trailer was actually JDJ (I checked). The two companies are at the same location and I get them confused. Someone even suggested they are in fact one. Who knows?

Myself, I would shy away from a tube frame and get a channel iron frame instead. The reason being that tube frames hold condensation and rot out. That is what I have learned in my years in the frozen north.

Miska seems to think they sre the best on the planet, and their features are impressive, but they are very expensive. I went with Kangaroo for my new 5' x 10'.

I agree on staying away from box tubes on trailers. Channel is the way to go.

A 6 ton trailer will put you into class A territory for your license...... As long as you are aware of that.

I prefer Canada trailers for outright quality.

tcartwri has a good point about the class A stuff, I wonder if Miska would de-rate a 6ton model down to 5 tons for you (6 ton running gear with a 5ton sticker)

whats your tow vehicle? do you have a A license?

I don't have an A licence that being said, would I be in violation of the law towing the trailer rated for that weight or only if I load it up over 9990lb limit? As for Miska being expensive all the other trailers seem to have internet prices far in excess even taking into account extra's like a roller tarp, rear jacks and a set of ramps. Am I looking at the wrong dealers ie. the website friendly larger dealers?

Yes, it's the rated weight of the trailer. That's why you see so many trailers in Ontario rated for 9998 lbs. You don't get those anywhere else.

The other catch... is that you are over the light trailer exemption of 6171 lbs. So you will have to register your pickup for the truck + trailer weight.
