This area is known as the "Green Hills" area. If you get some high ground you can see 30 miles. My home property is on the highest ridge in our County. I have a long distance view to the Southeast. No mountains here or even tall hills so the view is a bit uneventful. Generally fertile land.

We are right at the South end of the Ice Age Glaciers. Missouri Wildlife Conservation Agency actually tried to populate Ring Necked Pheasants here 40 years ago. After several years of turning loose new birds to keep the population up they finally gave up. Problem was this particular Pheasant needs a certain type of grit to digest it's food. This grit can only be found in Glacier Drift. Took our educated idiots many thousands if not millions of dollars and the lives of hundreds of thousands of Pheasants to figure that out.

Great pics Lynn. I always take time to look at the pics you post.

I took my family on a vacation 30 some years ago to see the Great Salt Lake. At that time it was at an extremely high level due to wetter than normal weather trends. I laughed til I cried watching my young boys taste the water!!!

I think the pictures both you and Pete are posting look amazing. I can't get over the amount of "green". Everytime I go see my son at Whiteman AF base I stare out the window of the car in amazement. I've talked about moving to a greener/wetter region but I'm not ready to give up the snowmobile and especially the Utah dry powder. It really can't be beat. I have video's of snow coming over the hood of the sled all day because it's so deep and soft. Tried to post them but I'm not smart enough.
Pete, keep the pictures coming. Love every one and that's a lot of cows. Now I know why you need so much hay.

Our hard to hit gamebird is the Bobwhite Quail. Their body size will fit in an open hand. Short stout wings. Very fast out the gate!!!

Mrs B caught a blurry picture of a Californian quail sitting on the gate behind where my CanAm has been parked. I thought I'd heard one a few times but put it down to wishful thinking. Great wee birds they are, have spent a few days out hunting them with my dad, many moons ago. Also very hard to shoot. They jump straight up about 10 or 12 feet and thats when you have to take em, once they get into that power dive they're gone. That was up in central Otago about two hours drive from here. Completely different climate to here. The thing about NZ is it is very small, even an hour in a car will give you 3 completely new landscapes and microclimates.
I failed to take any new pictures yesterday, phone went dead on my trip to Gore. It is still very very green over there for this time of year. The hills all have 5 inches of lush green growth, even amongst the rocks and tussock. Was really pretty indeed, usually by Christmas they have turned golden and the livestock are grazing the flats.
