That's good to know, thank you.
Lots of good info, thanks.
I have a little over 2 acres, mostly grass, wooded along the edge and one corner.
A MMM would work on most of it, and I hope this will be my last tractor, so not worried about upgrading.
I hadn't considered looking behind me all the time, and with a disc issue in my neck, that is a real problem.
I am getting a FEL, mostly for snow removal, but also some other work in the summer.
I have a slope along a ditch that is dangerous, so I would like a sickle bar for that area, or I may "engineer" a pull behind that I can offset for that, so I don't have to get too close to the edge, and I can use it for getting up close under the evergreens.
The GC1705 that I have my eyes on does have the drive over, that is supposed to be fairly easy to remove.
It looks like the MMM is the best fit for me.
Thank you all for the advice.
Which mower is best,,, depends on the mower,,, a LOT!!
Read the JD forum, guys constantly fight to figure out how to get the MMM mower to cut level.
The JD's have a suspended deck, with wheels that only touch when a high spot is encountered.
Newer RFM's have four gauge wheels,, they follow the ground, and cut nicely.
There are MMM's with four gauge wheels, i have one.
The gauge wheels should be part of your decision.
