We already have that forum... :D http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/.../284456-share-pics-people-hauling-towing.html

As to the term Redneck, I own it loud and proud. Even when wearing my suit in a room full of New York bankers. Snowback could be derogatory for Canadian like me in TX, but I think it's funny too.

As to pucker factor on tow ratings, I push it every time I load up all the gear tractor/loader/grapple/bucket/boxblade and misc tools and lubricants. Definitely feel the load, but an "Equalizer" brand WDH and rear bags make it track like a train, and my only real worry is making sure I have plenty of emergency stopping space as the half ton lacks a little bit in that department with 8,250lbs behind it. Half ton Rams ride like cars around town which is 95% of the use, but they are a bit limited on tow ratings.

I didn't know a Redneck owned a suit.

I even put my teeth in when I have to don fancy clothes for a meeting.

We have had 4 3.5 Ford Eco Boost trucks. Tow better than any V8 and as good as the 90's diesels

That is why my choice was to go with the F150 and the 3.5 Eco Boost. However, my CFO declared our purchase which was NOT the F150.

I reckon we'll be OK anyway.

Just a little over.

My 2006 2500HD GMC Duramax weighs 7300 pounds, front axle is 4100, rear axle is 3200. 14K trailer is 18' plus 4' pop-up dovetail and a metal deck. Empty weigh is 5000 pounds, 1000 on the ball, 4000 on the axles.

This is the heaviest load that I have pulled. Went across the scale at 24,940 total, truck and trailer. 12,640 on the deck equaled, 3,440 on the ball, 14,200 on the axles.

No chain binders aft?

/ How close to tow ratings do you dare go? #37
Nope, just chained, drove forward to tighten and used binders on the front chains. This was 2006, long before I got on TBN and found out that for over 10,000 pounds it needed 4 chains and 4 binders. The strap is on the bucket because it is just setting on the forks.

Hauled it from the Delta factory in NE Arkansas to central Oklahoma. Farm Tags on the truck, but not very visible with the trailer hooked on. No tag on the trailer, not required here.

Trailer, tractor and shredder are around 27k, maybe a little more. Truck adds another 10k for a gross of 37k. Pulls great. Elec/hyd brakes on the 15k lb axles work great.

Trucks rated to pull 32,500 or something like that.

Thats a nice mowing setup. How difficult is it loading that batwing on a trailer? And does it actually get to less than 8'6" wide?

Just pulled it on. Very uneventful. I'm going to try backing it on next time to see if it'll pull some weight off the truck and load the axles a little more.

I haven't put a tape on it but here's a better picture to show the width
