I have seen several brush hogs with a chain welded to that strap.

Big Bee makes some of theirs that way.

There's supposed to be a chain there. My Huskee had one, too.

I had a Huskee that looked a lot like these, but it had no diagonal chain or any facility to attach one. It was a great mower if only we could have kept the gear box anchored to the mower deck.

That's actually a Lowery 'Andy 500' cutter made by Lowery Mfg in Boaz,AL. I'm up in Guntersville and have one just like it. You can get any replacement parts that you need from Lowery. I got a stumpjumper with blades and shaft nut for mine for a little over $100 a few years ago.

Thanks for the info. i have a lowery 6' boxblade and that is one heavy attachment.

I don't think it is a Howse. Most of them have slot rather than a hole on the top of the A frame to let the machine swivel so it would not need the strap/chain setup.
