Well there is a thread talking about harbor freight tools that dont suck, but I think there needs to be a thread that is all about the worst of the harbor freight tools, the ones that are unsafe, dont work, or you just would never buy again. Also, feel free to add tools from princess auto, the harbor freight of canada

Re: Harbor Freight tools that DO suck (Almost anything rubber)

Import rubber from Mainland China especially the grades that get used in harbor freight products. (Lets say I'm cheap, but life is too precious to buy Chinese tires.)

Bungee cords etc, are not worth the plastic packaging they come in or the oil that they came from.

That orange plastic creeper they have is a throw away item for sure. The (same) issue I have is the plastic won't support the wheel/plate at the attachment point. If you get them on the $18 sale, there's not much room to complain, but at the $35 (ish) regular price, pass. You will be tossing it even only doing oil changes on a few vehicles in under a year.

I agree, I asked my fellow right wing garage guy to get me a price on studded tires last fall. He says $120 for Hankooks... I said Chinese tires? Seriously? No, get me North American tires for another 20%.

I'm not subscribing but when I asked if they were Chinese, he said yes, so I passed.

I changed the link to a different news source.

That manual tire changer is a piece of junk, ended up using the metal for welding projects.

The plastic ammo boxes do suck in cold weather. Snaps like a twig.

Hankook, like Kumho, is Korean, not Chinese. They are OEM on some cars and trucks. Might not be a bad choice.

I was only going by what the mechanic told me. Either way, I'm buying US made (Cooper) or North American (US or Canadian) whenever possible.

Didn't mean to veer the thread off track.

Hankooks are the best Chinese tire I know of. Their snow tires are decent, asctially as good as most others. Just don't Autoban them!. Their other tires are ok to average. The $50 Chinese tires are the truly truly scary ones.

3-6" hole saw set, the 1/4" center drill in the 5/16" hole in the hub is really special:thumbdown:
The sanding belts with the 1" wide splice, kind of like a speed bump :grumpy:

The 4.5 inch grinder. Tore up the first time I used it as well as the replacement they gave me. And all I was cutting through was 1/4 inch angle iron.
