Yeah, if it was shearing pins, it certainly wasn't being gentle with the tractor innards, either! You don't happen to have a schematic, they may have used to make connections, do you? It doesn't look bad, and there may be a schematic furnished with it.

tmajor.....I hear you about the magnetic clutch for the PTO. I dread starting my brush cutter for that very reason....the same for the wood chipper.

Did you locate a retailer that carries them? I'll give it a try without hesitation. I've no problem doing electrical work, especially 12 volt stuff. If I can splice an automatic transmission computer into my Jeep's wiring system, I feel confident I can do this. :)

Let me know. Thanks

Yes! The MF dealer, who I spoke with, M.M. Weaver has them on the shelf. I don't think, they are too bad to integrate, since the YouTube video has one in a lawn tractor. The dealer, also shared his reservations, as the info., which he was looking at, included an ECU, but I can't see that being critical.

No, unfortunately I didn't get a schematic.

The more I learn, the "less intimidating" it looks! Here is a much better explanation of what needs to be done. I'll try to further enlighten, as I get into it.

The instructions, seem to indicate, that you simply find the clutch connector, separate it, insert the factory installed plug into the clutch end of the harness, verify which is the +12 volt wire on the tractor side and insert the red wire into the corresponding slot in the empty plug and then the black wire into the other empty slot in the plug, which will then plug into the tractor side of the harness. The yellow tach wire is optional. The attached diagram shows the tach wire wrapped around a spark plug wire for a gas engine, while diesel, would have it going to the alternator "tach output". Also, if you accidentally get the "slide in contact" in the wrong slot, they can be removed, by inserting a small, flat tool and depressing the little bit, which holds them in place.

Don't get excited about ordering from your Massey Dealer, as I received a part today, but it was NOT what I was looking for! I don't know, whether they shipped the incorrect part or what is going on. Time, will tell.

That was obtained from the M.M.Weaver link?

The part? The part, I wanted in my stocking was ordered from MM Weaver, but it turned out to be a switch of some type. I've sent it back, at this point! I have never had a pleasant experience, ordering anything from an AGCO Massey Dealer. This is the first time, I ordered from "Weaver". ??
I'll find a source for them ... be patient.

Tom I sent you a PM. Also the way I got mine was to chat with the tech support on the Agco site. I already knew the soft start controller existed (from tbn) and explained my issue and asked if they would give me one under warranty. They said take the tractor to the dealer and they would install it. I think it took about a week to get the part.

Do you know, where they installed it? ... by the rear tire or under the dash?
