It might be worth noting that apparently both GM and Ford built weapons for BOTH sides during WW II. Ford even sued for damage to it's plants overseas and WON! So much for the boys that spilled their blood and lost their lives. There just the suckers in an Evil game.

So we should drive a Jap or VW, cause of this?

Do you have any links to this?

From the quick search I did, the accusations were that they did not break ties with their plants as the war started. I didn't see anything about them sueing the US.

It does get complicated, when a company owns property overseas and a war is starting.

I am reading the opposite of what you wrote. The American companies are were sued.

One of these things, you heard from someone?

Do you own anything made in Japan or Germany?

If you own anything from Japan, what difference does it make if it's a toy or a car?

The fact is the world has become a much smaller place than it was 50 years ago.

I'll be the first to agree, I'll buy American made first when it comes to a product that will employ Americans, but in the 70's and 80's my parents drove nothing but American made cars. The last two cars my father bought were Honda and he loves them compared to what he had (and you'd be amazed at how many people Honda employs in the US. And he (my father) served at least 4 tours in south east asia and I consider myself American enough that I enlisted as well.

It's also hard to beat German engineering at times as well. The best boiler IMO made in the world is still being made by the same company who made the Panzer tank.

Do you actually know where they were made? Many lazy people say many are made here, but don't check.

My trucks were made in Indiana. Bikes in PA.

I check labels quite often.

Did I ever say all I buy is American? I have noticed you make a lot of assumption
s.

Ahhh, which of your posts should I quote.

Many products are not made in the US, so you have no choice. Cars are big ticket items with more impact.

My side by side was made in Nebraska. It does bother me the corporation is over seas. But Polaris did not make one in the size I wanted.

Even when buying imports, I select which country when I can. China is a evil country, and potentially an enemy. I would rather send money a country that we will not have a risk of going to war with.

Wow. There is a huge difference between $5 toy and $$$$ truck.

I don't believe the world is smaller. I think people are lazier.

Often I find it overly complicated.

Funny I knew some america sucks liberal types with VWs. Complaining how check engine light was coming on all the time and how expensive it was. When I asked them about that, they said they are precise the check engine comes on alot. They somehow felt, it was a good thing. Where I felt there should have been a timer, or greater limits, to prevent nuicance alarms.

How many honda plants are in the US? They closed down the Goldwing plant and moved production overseas.

No, it's very simple when it comes to the material. There are not many boilers in the world made that can bring in 32 degree return water temperature without suffering from thermal shock. Just so happens, same company that made the German tank makes the same boiler.

My sister , 10 years younger had a problem with a dealer who tried to screw her with 5 days left on a warranty , they refused to fix something that was gonna cost $1100.00 . So her and about 5 of her girlfriends made posters and stood at the entrance to the dealer with posters saying how she was getting screwed , they handed out fliers too. Dealership didnt like this at all , they called the cops . One of the girls father was there watching just in case , when the cops came and told them to leave , he stepped in . Lucky he was an attorney . The cops couldnt make them legally leave , then the general manager came out . Funny how everything got fixed AND they gave her a 1 year additional warranty at NO CHARGE .
