Your towing rigs and trailers

I hated the Peterbilt at first. I wanted the shorter hood/wheelbase 384 for CA length restrictions so I was stuck with the Paccar MX-13 engine. What a slow dog that thing is! Then I had someone tweak the ECM tuning, and oh what a difference!

Reason I ask is Peterbilt was a California Institution that started less than a mile from my home.

Several of my friends would only buy Peterbilt but the last go around to say they were disappointed would be an understatement... mostly performance wise... they have Bobtail set up for fuel oil delivery...

Not my trailer but a uhaul. Had to haul our 2004 f150 yesterday and used our 2007 but couldn't have the trailer back in time so had to pay today's fee for it and needed to haul a truck to the scrap yard
My brother had got called to work after school so i had 800lb in the bed of the pickup towing too. But the scrap yard was only 10miles away and it handled good still

Not going anywhere like that I hope!
No tractor hold down chains, and hoe should be resting (chained) on the deck.
Just playing in the driveway when I brought trailer home.

Truck looks a bit (weight) droopy on the tail end.

Just the normal Ford squat. They finally fixed this on the 2017's.

My new towing rig. 2017 Ford F350 with the 6.7L PowerStroke. Wow, is this thing amazing! Can't wait to hook a load behind it! <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=503337"/> <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=503338"/>

Now that's a nice truck! Very very nice.

They actually fixed it in 2013 or 2014. Ford went to a softer, yet more progressive and higher rating spring. The spring was too soft on the low end and too rigid on the high end.

Now the progressing spring has a far less range in stiffness...

It's just fine. That truck needs some pin weight for that load.

A deleted 6.4 is a monster. It's probably the one engine that can handle an increase of 250 ft/lbs of torque over stock with no engine modification with a simple tune. Love seeing these things work.

'06 GMC 2500 Duramax towing my home-built 28' gooseneck.

This truck is my "keeper", and has been really good to me over the 120k and 7 years that I've owned it. It currently has 240k on it and tows whatever I hook it to without complaint. I don't care for any of the newer trucks that have come out, so this one will probably stay with me for the rest of time.

I'm still pretty happy with the trailer that I built. I originally thought it was on the long side, but I've had it filled front to back a few times now. Money and time well spent!!

yep - THAT'S a keeper combo. And that's more than just a "little" skill building that very nice trailer. Hat's off to you sir.

Probably the smallest rig here, but I finally got a trailer that would carry my BX1860 and that fits inside my garage with all the other toys. Both are a very snug fit, but sometimes less is more. :D

There is NOTHING like a gooseneck!
I do not have a suitable pickup now, so I tow with a K2500 7.3L gas 4x4 Suburban, and am using a 14K bumper pull.
It works OK, ... but ..... I do miss the gooseneck!

How about some additional photos and details on your GN build? That looks great.

I finally remembered to take a picture. My MX5800 setup coming back from cutting down some threatening trees and before unloading the tractor. This is a 2016 Titan XD with the 5.0L Cummins diesel and a 20' equipment trailer. View attachment 505251
