Tractor Hydraulic Transmission Oil

We have several shops that work on diesel equipment [ dozers/TLB's/18 wheelers/tractors/etc... ]. They heat their shops with fuel oil. They dump the used oils into a 55 gallon drum, then pump/filter/mix it with the fuel oil they burn. Helps heat their shop and gets rid of the oil.... They are glad to get every drop of oil they can get to keep heating costs down.... Might look/ask around....

Hello, I have a new to me TC35 and need to change the hydraulic fluids, very interesting read.

My question is what do you do with the OLD removed fluids... I haven't read anything here on how to dispose of it.

Thank You

~Phil

Many places that sell it, take it. Might be limo to amount per day though.

One of the chain auto parts stores (Auto-zone) takes used motor oil. I asked a guy at the one closest to me if I could dump some used transmission fluid, he said "sure, motor oil, tranny fluid, and hydraulic fluid is all oil right?, go ahead". So I never asked again.

I have a oil quick change place that lets me dump 50 gallon at a time into their storage tanks.

Hydro oil is just oil. Usually cleaner than engine oil.

I'll be saving my future oil for my friend. Borrowed his 40 year old backhoe & the oil that was leaking out looks like a chocolate milkshake. Used oil out of my machine will be better than what is in that ancient beast & help keep it going a bit longer. Some of the pins have a 1/4" of slop & the thing isn't worth putting a lot of money into.

I let the "heavies" settle out of it in pails, then mix it 50/50 with diesel and filter it. It then gets used for fuel in one of my tractors...
