Hey Mike, and everyone else, I was able to get ahold of the Massey ferguson dealer today. He finally emailed me a quote for the MF 2706E.

Grossly inflated price on the grapple and box blade. You should be able to get both from a solid manufacturer for $3000 total not each. And hydraulic scarifiera are overkill for most of us.

Wimpy loader for a 57hp tractor too. More like what you'd get on a 35 hp tractor.

yes I knew your user name right away! VERY nice Charger you have! I have a '68 Barracuda Fastback I'm restoring/modifying with a 408ci stroker and A833 4 speed. I also have a '70 Dodge Dart I was building, with a 372" (baby stroker) with a small B&M 162 blower, and a 4 speed. But my projects are in the barn now, and I'm more interested in getting this tractor and fixing up this property. I'll get back into the car stuff later, it'll burn ya out....and drain your wallet. lol

as i have found, tractors will also drain your wallet. lol

That's why the 69 Charger RT/SE was sold. it is still in pieces the a year ago when I checked in on it. I'll be putting the 03 Cobra on the road in a few weeks. It needs dry clean warm asphalt.

Will you please a quotes on a Kioti NX 55 hp or 60 hp, the 2555 or 3655 Mahindra, Branson 7845, the LS XR4155HC-55HP or an XR and the Yanmar YT3

Don't be afraid to travel.

Wow those prices in CA are worse than New England!

That Loader on the Massey may just seem like a wimp, due to the way it is rated. I suspect the 1700 lbs is at full height, 800mm forward of the pins. Check out the Massey spec.
Massey Ferguson | Utility and Mid-Range Loader

Unlike in the past, now Kubota rates at the pins like the majority of other tractor brand loaders are rated. This makes it very tough to get a feel for what they will really lift.

As I was the one who compare the two on "toughness" I guess I should reply. I don't mean that the Grand L isn't as capable. I was focused more on where the $$$ are spent. The MX is all basic necessities like a Toyota truck. The Grand L has lots of "Lexus" features. MX has an HST like all other tractors over the past 20 years, the Grand L has a fancier HST. I guess my main point was simply that the MX will do all the work the Grand L can do but at a lower purchase price. To switch analogies, MX is the Suburban, Grand L is the Escalade. Both will get you to the destination with similar capacities etc.

It is an MX not an M but the M's are really utility not CUT sized as I understand it. The MX is very much like the Kioti DKse in size and capacities.

I don't disagree with your point and while my post was not directed at you, it brought up a common misconception. I had to go compare not only the specs, but check them out at the dealer as I was considering one several years ago.

Maybe not on this thread, but on one I recommended the MX over a GL if money was a consideration. I always recommend looking at all the top brands with a good dealership. My brother, who knows far more about tractors than I ever will convinced me years ago to buy what was then considered the "off brand Kubota. When he went to buy his retirement tractor not long ago planning to get a Kubota but came home with a really nice Kioti. Right now he is eying a cab LS. We have/have had Case, John Deere, Massey Ferguson, Ford, so we aren't stuck on anything.

That pricing is really higher than what we are accustomed to here in NC.

I looked at the MX when I purchased my Workmaster. The specs on the Workmaster was better but did not offer hydrostat drive. To get into a M unit the cost was much higher as the MX was higher than the Workmaster. Kubota quality is hands down top shelf but the New Holland has been great so far. My dealer tried to point me to Mahindra but at the time their was no cost savings versus the New Holland.

The local LS dealer is 25 miles further away. I don't have any insight to his pricing. They carry Massey also. When the local dealer carrying Massey, LS, and Kubota closed after 25 plus years New South picked up Kubota to add with New Holland and Mahindra. New South is very convenient for me since I work a couple miles from there. The cost savings for an LS unit would need to be substantial over Mahindra, New Holland, and Kubota for me to consider them. The LS cab tractors are really nice.

Well, sirs, I looked at Grand L tractors when I bought my MX. I'm sure the Grand L would get me bragging rights, but I was more interested in getting capability v/s cost.

I happen to live where there are no close Kioti tractor dealers or I would have gone to one. Our close-by LS dealer is closed on weekends, so that wouldn't work. The New Holland/Mahindra dealer salesman was subpar and didn't listen very well. I think he was expected to sell a certain model rather than accommodate my desires.

Dealer relationships count for me. I want to put my money where the value is. Green paint is too expensive.

Speaking of green paint....I went to a JD dealer in Paso Robles, where I unexpectedly got called in to do some repairs on Highway 1 by Big Sur. Here's a quote for a 4052R. Their hydraulics they offer seem really sophisticated, non mechanical, diverter valve. Etc. although you can go with mechanical but he said more lines and the way they mount is different.

Way overpriced by New England standards. Implements and tractor.

Also, I don't understand need for hydraulic scarifiers.

Give it a few years, I'm convinced gravity is getting stronger and my tractors are getting taller.:)

So I think we are all seeing a trend here....that tractor prices are through the roof in my 300 mile area, and a lot of the dealers are getting away with it...maybe that's just how it is now...

Regarding the John Deere, how would y'all rate that tractor? Is the 4052R more tractor than the kubota MX5200? It certainly has way more options, as I have it configured above, it has joystick loader operations real close by the fender. But I think I could also have the lever mounted on the loader like the 'Bota. All in the packaging I guess. Maybe it's more fair to compare this one to the Grand L..

There is a lot of plastic, the hood and fenders though.

I would *think* having hydraulic anything makes work to be done more proficient. Id rather have it now than add something later.. Thank you.
