Wow. I guess that's why it is so cheap (in every sense)!

Sounds like this will work out, glad to hear it.

Just checked my LoadTrail 5x10 10k dump, it has a 5" cylinder.

Scissor lift?

Really not a fan of a single cylinder design. Anything over 5' should have two cylinders or a scissor IMO

If you have a buy back in hand I would just walk away and try one of the more reputable trailer manufacturers. Like I said Moritz is made in your state and i have seen some for sale. Here's a list and they are all in Ohio ......... MORITZ DUMP Trailers For Sale - 14 Listings - Page 1 of 1 .

Price is whats scaring me away. That and they dont make a 6x12. SO either way will be a sacrifice. Give up 2' of length (6x10) or gain a foot width 7x12.

Wider is big upcharge. Usually about $800 more. And the added with dont benefit me. Infact it would be a hindrance in the woods. And $6000 - $7000 + tax.......

I like the sub-$5000 price point alot better. IF I cant find one I like in a price I like new....I guess Im back to used shopping

Thanks for keeping us up to date. One of my relatives was looking into getting a dump trailer and it seems that we have to be REAL wary of the mfg's screwing us.

LD1, the new LoadTrail 5x10s are scissor lift with a single cyl. Mine is about 18 months old and no scissor lift, just the cylinder. I have had it maxed out with crushed rock and no issues. Agree scissor is a better design though.

When I looked at the Forest River website and saw they specialize in RVs and camper builds, it helped explain their commitment to lighten and skimp on things. What good is the extra size if it can't be dumped?

At least they tried to remedy the issue. Too bad the trailer is built too light to accept the bigger cylinder.

Hmm. Makes you wonder if they switched to the smaller cylinders as a limiting factor, to keep the rest of the trailer from self destruction. You're right LD1, it is a nice looking trailer though.
