1.3 gigs in. Should save me nearly $50/mo over what I currently have (which is also an att data plan). Hard to beat that.
Sad indeed, ATT requires Social Security Number and date-of-birth for a new customer to open an account, that was a Mobley deal-breaker for me. Apparently a functioning, validate credit card number is insufficient to pay a $20/mo. bill. :confused2:
Probably needed for credit check.
Got the antenna mod install, pretty easy. Followed to HoFo link.
I then drilled a hole in the case:

Only seeing about 5-8 db improvement, but that good enough to move the Mobley to the interior spot I want to place it. A quick Speedtest 15/5. Considering my successor ISP is want $80/month for 10-15mb dl (shared, not guaranteed) this for $20 is a bargain.
I want to stabilize with a bit of museum putty. Will likely try the Yagi antenna at some point.
Now to get Mobley hooked to a Picostation.

That is correct. With a post-paid plan like this, they are extending credit.
I don't understand how the no contract plan is considered post pay? Do you not have to pay the bill up front on the no contract plan?
no they are not, its a post paid plan so you pay a month behind. My next bill due in May will be for April usage, its like a water or electric bill.Whether you have a contract or not does not impact the payment. Unless you specifically have a "pre-paid" type of plan you are paying for your usage during the past month when you pay your bill. Makes sense... They aren't collecting $20 + fees/taxes up front when you buy and activate the Mobley, are they?
