BX 2350 is a plastic nightmare

I have a BX2350 that I bought in 2006. Most of the plastic pieces are broken including the headlights. I have tried to get satisfaction from Kubota of Ohio with no success so my Kubota is beginning to look like junk. I would think that Kubota would bite the corporate bullet and replace the hood, headlights and rear fender on these machines because they give a bad image to their tractors and potential buyers. New buyers have to ask themselves what kind of service they will receive when their new tractor breaks. The plastic parts keep breaking and I cannot find replacements at a reasonable cost. $500.00 is a lot of money for a headlight cluster and then add in a new hood and your up to almost $1000.00 in costs.The plastic BX2350

Sorry to hear of troubles.
Thinking forward to those issues, 2 years ago, I bought a 1988 4x4 Ford 1920 FEL, and completely refurbished it.
I have more invested than I thought I would, but she is a sweet little machine with her little basic 32HP Shibaura 4 cyl. 1000 hr. diesel
I have no electronics, and no plastic parts (the dash is plastic).
It is basic! It is simple! I can fix it!

I have a 2007 BX24... basically same tractor as yours.
I have some scuffs & scratches but nothing cracked or broken... have torn the lenses off the hazard flashers a few times by catching on brush, etc. but they didn't break.
I do keep my tractor in the barn... maybe continuous sun & weather exposure makes the plastic more brittle ?? I can't imagine what I would have to hit my tractor with to break the hood or fender.

I have a 2008 BX24 and all the plastic looks like new. I store it in a garage so that may make a difference. I like the plastic hood because when I drop a firewood log it bounces off with no dents. If your tractor is low hours and in good shape it is a good investment to spend the $1000 and keep it looking shipshape.

I disagree with this pay for looks as an investment. The BX50 series was a Kubota mistake in several ways. I had one and gave/traded it back to Kubota quick and rec'd some compensation. My big issue was the jerk in reverse which has never been corrected in that series and most buyers know about it but was not in the BX60 and on series'. To pay $1000 for it to look good and maybe damage it again isn't a wise investment. You own it so use it till it dies and don't look at it. Looks and investment aren't on the same page. If you decide to sell it then repairs and appearance is a different matter but at that time you will be deciding how much you want to pay to get part of your money back or maybe even make it marketable.

How about some pictures? I don't think any manufacturer is going to cover issues like this on an 11 year old tractor.

I guess I have a different philosophy about taking care of things. I can't stand using things that are broken. I always fix vehicles, tractors, appliances, chainsaws, and my home and property. Even when I am going to sell them I spend the money to bring them up to original specifications. I get a kick out turning over a vehicle to a new owner that looks and runs just like new. My 1977 Ford F-250 cost me $5100 new. I sold it for $3100 twenty years later. Seems like a good investment to me.

I would think that depends on whether it was a manufacturing defect or operator error that caused the damage. Or if it is an engineering design flaw.

Still have my 1977 F-250 4x4.
Will have it painted again (3rd time) this summer.
Paid $5680 40 years ago, don't know, or care, what it is currently worth.
It is part of my life history now.
I too try to keep all my "stuff" looking like new.

I would still have my 77 if it was a 4x4. I bought a 4x2 in San Diego and immediately moved to western Washington. I got to know a lot of folks when I asked them to pull me out.
