Cheap $20 a month Stand Alone Unlimited Rural Internet through AT&T Wireless

Im sitting about 500 feet from my all brick home running 20 mbs down from the Asus connected USB to the Mobley. Gotta love it. My chickens have wifi now

Don't come back here crying when the co-op truck shows up with 5 tons of cracked corn and you get the bill.

we have the Asus up and running, and i can't say for a fact that it's any better than the router i had with Frontier for signal outside. i will have to do some more testing

but i will post an observation
if connected thru the Asus, while watching youtube HD video. i seem to not have as good speed as if connected to the mobley itself.
they both test similar in speed tests, but to me true speed shows watching video or downloading files.. i'm going to pay more attention to this
and see if i can verify for sure.

also, i got my warning text from ATT that i'm 75% of our 22gb limit, and they state that they could slow the data speed.
we'll see if we get there, as this month is up thursday.

I've gone over 22 GB every month since I have had it and have never once noticed a change in speed.

Where I live (rural area), even at 100+GB usage for the month, I see no speed degradation, normally running between 20 and 40 Mbps. However, this past weekend, we were camping at the Lake of the Ozarks here in MO, and I saw speeds around 5 Mbps at times. I'm guessing we were de-prioritized, but if de-prioritized means 5 Mbps on rare occasions, I can handle it!

I think the 22GB 'cap' is just their boilerplate. I also think the network 'congestion' is per tower. If you have smartphone and are in a heavily populated city, then network congestion and throttling may be a concern. Those of us that live in rural and semi-rural areas that have access to perhaps a single cell tower and communities measured in 100s or less and even fewer using these towers as a sole source of internet are not likely to be affected by 'throttling'.

AT&T can, but doesn't mean they will or need to.

So will the slowdown occur when they have the nation "hooked" on Mobleys?

Their greed has put caps on most all their plans so far.

Your post and your sig line are ironically and humorously at odds.

If that does ever happen and service is no longer usable for my needs I will just cancel, $22 a month is cheap and I have no contract so can cancel at anytime I want if at&t no longer wants my business. :D
