I guess I got lucky with the activation. I bought it at Best Buy and the AT&T rep at Best Buy was nothing short of amazing. However, dealing with AT&T after the activation is a nightmare.

just fired up my mobley for first time. already activated. Set it up via an old cradlepoint router that does wifi as wan. direct to mobley with phone, first speed test was 13.8 Mbps down, 2.42 up. verizon is currently giving me .74 Mbps, .1 up, but is normally more around 6Mbps down. got it powered with an old 12v brick with allegator clips.

I was also successful getting AT&T to remove the $25 activation fee.

Nah, that's just frugal.
Cheap is the guys over on HOFO whining about not getting a FAN discount on their $20/month unlimited plan.

My 3rd unit is currently enroute from FedEx HNL. Time I start learning about using two devices for load balancing. WOW, didn't even know that existed 2 months ago LOL

I wonder how long the Mobley's will last powered on constantly? Maybe it's not an issue, who knows.

Highly doubt that is a concern. Considering even ancient electronics can seem to last forever (I had an old D-link non-wifi router that served as a ethernet splitter down in my basement ceiling for 10+ years that just sat there and worked) and that the Mobley was designed to be used in the harsh environment of an automobile (lots of vibrations and temperature extremes) I think leaving it powered on 24x7 in your house is not stressing it out.
