From what I have seen being a phone man for 37 years is the ancient stuff lasts a long time. It's the newer stuff that craps out frequently.

FedEx delivered the Mobley this afternoon. Since I didn't have time to get a power supply together, I just plugged it into the Suburban while sitting in the driveway. It powered up and connected to the ATT network within a few seconds, so it came pre-activated, ready to go.

Using my Android tablet, I connected to the Mobley and tested speed three times on SpeedOf.Me, HTML5 Speed Test | Non Flash/Java Broadband Speed Test. Download/upload was 12.39/2.85, 11.16/2.1 and 13.66/3.29 Mbps.

This may not seem blazing fast to you but it looks great to me. My 6 Mb Windstream DLS tested 6.29/0.91, 6.41/0.89 and 6.4/0.81 Mbps. So, twice the speed at one third the price. If this holds up for a month or two, it will be good bye Windstream.

I have not done any adjustments in the WiFi manager yet, only saw the signal strength was maybe 1/3 scale. An AC power source is in the works for tomorrow but for now I'm HAPPY.

I'm arriving late to this game, just found out about Mobley yesterday after seeing it on an RV forum. Ordered one on line yesterday, got the June 20-30 estimated shipping date. Just got an email a few minutes ago from AT&T saying it was shipped today. Earlier today, I visited my local AT&T store. They knew nothing about Mobley or the plan. I "rented" a phone for a few days ($10) just to see what kind of signal I would have at my house (my cell phone is with another carrier). The results shows 1/2 the bars lit up for 4g service. Hopefully it will give better results than my 6MB Windstream that costs $60 per month. Fingers crossed... I'll follow up later with the results.

What adjustments would those be?

Of course the stuff that is ancient has already lasted a long time. Stuff that has already lasted a long time is likely to keep lasting an even longer time.

Mobley arrived this afternoon.
Plugged it in, started right up. Activated without doing anything. 16.49 mbps sitting in the window.
Accessed the manager to change passwords etc. 1.0.1 fw.
Checked online AT&T account and found everything correct.

So this is my homemade power adapter.

OBD
18deg Female Terminal 16 Pin OBD 2 II Connector Diagnostic Plug DIY Shell Adapter | eBay

12vdc adapter
Amazon.com : BV-Tech DC12V 1A UL-Listed Switching Power Supply Adapter for CCTV - 5 Pack - Black : Power Converters : Camera & Photo

2.1mm connectors

inShareplus 5 Pack 5.5 X 2.1mm Barrel Power Plug 12V DC Cable Connector Male Female with Pigtail for CCTV Security Camera LED Strip - - Amazon.com

With this setup I can connect any power source with 2.1mm connectors. Versatile.

My golf cart and tractor doesn't have 12vdc outlets so I'm thinking I'll take 2 of the male connectors and attract to battery via fused wire.

Just got my first 2 ads :(

I guess next time I get pinged to do a review will be a chance to spew forth.
Have to wonder if this is a precursor to pick to upgrade.
