FedEx delivered the Mobley this afternoon. Since I didn't have time to get a power supply together, I just plugged it into the Suburban while sitting in the driveway. It powered up and connected to the ATT network within a few seconds, so it came pre-activated, ready to go.
Using my Android tablet, I connected to the Mobley and tested speed three times on
SpeedOf.Me, HTML5 Speed Test | Non Flash/Java Broadband Speed Test. Download/upload was 12.39/2.85, 11.16/2.1 and 13.66/3.29 Mbps.
This may not seem blazing fast to you but it looks great to me. My 6 Mb Windstream DLS tested 6.29/0.91, 6.41/0.89 and 6.4/0.81 Mbps. So, twice the speed at one third the price. If this holds up for a month or two, it will be good bye Windstream.
I have not done any adjustments in the WiFi manager yet, only saw the signal strength was maybe 1/3 scale. An AC power source is in the works for tomorrow but for now I'm HAPPY.
