I need advice getting rid of mice

That has also become a problem. We're breaking records with the number of snakes we've dealt with so far this year. The rat snakes are not so bad, but the copperheads and cotton mouths are showing up at the house too!!!!

The snakes are worse this year. I mowed last week and the next day there were 2 four foot skins that had been shed next to each other by the shop. Looks like cottonmouth skins which is our biggest problem. Last one I killed climbed 8' straight up the wall and was killing the baby barn swallows in a nest on the back porch.

We where supposed to get four kittens on Thursday, but they sort of wondered off and now we're hoping the owners can find them. I did have some fun watching the chickens chase down a few mice that I disturbed while mowing. Chickens are very aggressive when they see a mouse, sadly they are worthless at night time when the mice are most active.

We haven't ruled out Rat Terriers, but with four Akita's, it's a challenge introducing another dog to the family, and I honestly thing four dogs is plenty.

Same here, but I figured it was because of my mouse issue. I've killed 7 so far and my wife is at five. Of those killed, three where copper heads and two where cotton mouths. Our oldest Akita was bit again by either a copper head or cotton mouth. The first time we saw it happen and know for a fact it was a copper head. This time we just saw the swelling on her neck and found the bite on her jaw.

Some cats are mice killing machines, and some not so much. Depends on the cat.

The RT's will acclimate just fine. The Akita's, as you already know, can be very aggressive and vicious. Four is more of a handful than I would want to take on :) They don't call them "Wolf-Dogs" for nothing.

.

What would a chicken do if there were floodlights at night so it could see the mice? Or does that interrupt the laying cycle?
