How do you store your grease gun

Mine are laid flat on a middle shelf in the workshop. I wrap the nozzles in a rag, the same one that I use to wipe it with prior to putting them away.

Nail on wall, only get about ten days a year that are hot enough to make it drip, my waste oil can (old drum type five gallon gas can) is on the floor below it, so any drips are unnoticed on the top.

Thrown in a milk crate in the back of my pickup along with about 8 million miscellaneous items. It is a work truck after all...a little grease is good for the paint!

Mine hang on nails on the wall in my work shed. Any drips, which there probably are some in the hotter part of the summer, hit the old sawn board floor and are soaked up.

If they leak on a hot day, am I using the wrong grease?

I take a tall skinny throwaway propane tank (empty of course) and cut the top off it. Drill 2 holes vertically along the axis near the top to mount it to the wall or work bench and 2 holes diametrically opposite the first 2 so you can reach through with a screwdriver. Fold a paper towel or small piece of a rag into a little square and drop it in the bottom to soak up any drips. Something I learned from my dad...he used to use a soup can and I took the idea to the next level.

A good quality grease will not leak oil.

Maybe not... I don't honestly know, as I do not consider myself to be a lubrication specialist.
.....but, the grease recommended by my dealer, who covers my warranty work, will drip from the grease gun if left hanging in the shed in the summertime..

I never thought of hanging a grease gun. I just toss mine on the shelf under the work bench.
