I've owned Justins, Wolverines, and Red Wings. These are more comfortable by far. Dick's Sporting Goods carries some styles.

Cant seem to get to the end of this thread (stuck on pg 1), lets see if posting fixes it...
Edit: it did.

I am not sure if re-soling is a good way to go.

The cheaper to manufacturer injection molded soles, like tennis shoes, often seem more comfortable. I have to wonder if it is outdated technology. Also you want your boots to support you, leather stretches as it gets old.

So for me, what ever feels comfortable when I put them on, is what I go with.

Don't be afraid to try some modern brands. I have worn many Redwings and Wolverines, but I may never buy another pair either. Lots of stuff out there.

Very good luck with Ecco trek boots mid height. Wear them in very adverse conditions hot asphalt and generally get two years out of a pair. With diabetes comfort and protection important and these have fit the bill for me

So far, great. I have been off line for a while - anyway, got a pair of Wolverines. So far feel great and no issues.
Good to hear and great brand... comfort is key! Function is #2, and Looks comes in at #3 in my book.
