Have a new harbor freight near me now, they have their quick hitch for $99.00 and a 25% coupon tomorrow only and my daughter gave me a $25.00 gift card for HF.
Any thought on how that would work on my XR4046?
I have a Rhino SE60 cutter and a box blade that give me the most pain trying to hook them up by myself. My back is getting old.

I use the HF quick hitch on my XR3037HC. Can't use it with the post hole digger but I do use it with the box blade, rake, rear ballast weights, trailer mover, and snow blower. Had to make a few minor changes to some equipment so it fit the hitch (mainly on top link) but it works fine.

Thanks George, had read reviews that mentioned modifications. But glad to know if works on LS. My tractor is 1 hp over rating . Think I will call it close enough. Forgot about postdigger. That thing is the most painful implement in the world for me to hook up. Have inflicted myself with a lot of injuries over the years. If I chain it to a post upright i can usually get it on ok.

My home made ballast is hard also.

With the QH I just back up to them (3 pt ballasts) and lift then get off and latch the QH handles down. Very easy to do. The PHD is really a 2 man job to hook up but I found it easier and can hook up myself if I hang it from a tree branch when not in use. Much easier to maneuver onto the 3 pt. when all the weight is supported by the tree. I welded a lifting point on my PHD to support it with a chain. (see pic)

I also use the HF QH on my XG3037. I went ahead and put an extender adapter on the top link of the QH and it works great. Adapter is available from Agri Supply. A QH is one of the best decisions you can make....no more killing my back or needing a second person.

Just do a search on You Tube for HF Quick Hitch. The adapter is #61369 on Agri Supply has farm supplies, tractor implements & mower parts.. You attach the adapter to the top link connector of the implement. I only needed it on my box blade. All other equipment hooked up perfectly without it. Will post a picture as soon as it stops raining.

Clarification....in my first response I indicated that the adapter attached to the QH which is not correct. It attaches to the top link connector of the implement. Here is a picture of the adapter on my box blade. Basically the adapter extends outward the top link connection so that the QH can grab it. Not necessary with all implements....in my case, just needed it on my box blade.20170704_155251.jpg

Thanks for the reply's. My next question is has anybody invented a solution to not having to take the back wheel off of the tractor to switch out the lifting mechanism when putting on the back hoe?

Well I now have a HF quick hitch. Went to pay for it and used my 25.00 gift card. The cashier said $56.33, I was holding my discover card in hand to pay the rest. She hit a wrong button, and it took her and the manager at least twenty minutes to fix. I never get irate when stuff like that happens, forty years in retail gives you a different perspective.. I did say "you could give me the irate customer discount" , while smiling". The manager said I am planning on doing something. So he made it an even $40.00. Made me happy, not to sure about the line behind me...

My local HF has great service and always with a smile. Glad to hear the Mgr did a little extra for you.

Thanks for the link on the adapter. Anyone know of any other places to get the adapter? They want $20 to ship to California

Amazon.... $31.03 Prime. Ebay.... $33.00 Free Shipping. Check your local farm supply and tractor dealers as they may have these. A local welder/metal shop might be able to make one...fairly simple design.

I took out the top bolts that get in the way and put in roll pins cut to length. Cheap and done in a few minutes. I did bend my qh this week. Lower left arm. Not sure how I did it but I am pretty amazing sometimes at that kind of stuff.

Discovered the QH isn't going to work on my hay spear not a big deal. Other than having to take the hitch off ... It's a Farm Star spear with the pins over 30" apart. Don't know why it's so wide

hd5, any way to replace the pins with a long piece of roundbar and attach the lower arms of the QH to this? Looked like Farm Star had a spear model setup this way.

I called HF and ordered the adapter over the phone. They let me use a 20% coupon over the phone and shipping to Idaho was $6.95. (It came to me from Cali.)

That's a good idea, I have to switch the hay spear between my LS and my 1967 MF 135. Maybe it needs a QH also. Or I could just run the roundbar thru the arms on the 135. Once I put the spear on the 135 this winter it pretty much stays there. My cows are a mile from the house and I'm not leaving my LS in a open barn or driving it that far everyday so I feed with an antique....
