Keep dreaming. Wind is on par with coal, cars kill way more birds and other animals than wind, and ask IA farmers if they want wind on their land. The answer is yes. Some make more money from wind than from farming. Coal is bust and fracked NG wells have short producction life.
unless you think that 4000-6000 years is short production.

Money makes a lot of questionable activities acceptable .

Their stock price has gone up about 100% in the last six months. That is clearly speculation on a volatile stock. I don't see recent corrections as evidence that their sky is falling. It will be interesting to see if they are able to turn the corner and become a profitable company.

I also find it interesting that they are delivering their first Model 3s, but their website still doesn't have a build/price option for that model. The people at the very front of the line must have information not available to the masses.

I'm curious what the Model 3 will cost with the popular options added.

The Smart car was built and designed for Europe so it could be parked perpendicular to the curb where all longer cars had to park parallel.

Yeah I know. I used to see them at a dealership in Paris. They had this tall clear tube filled with them on a spiral ramp that looked like a vending machine or something. It was tongue in cheek humor I suppose. I thought they looked dangerous then and I think they look even more so now. They obviously have no place on American highways and I can't understand how any state legislature even allows them on the highways if they are so all fired concerned with automotive safety the way they all say they are. Just like bicycles have no place on our streets if safety is any real concern.

Pull all the subsidies and Tesla would die and fold in a single day, a week tops.

If this current offering fails, the company is finished. The conventional thinking is it very well could fail, the stock is down 20% today, as investors hold their breath. We'll see, but the enthusiasm for electric cars is gone. SUV sales are up 60% and driving profits of car companies today.

Time will tell. To my understanding, the $7500 subsidy runs out after they sell 250k vehicles. To date, I don't see it having that much influence. People buying a car for $70-140k probably wouldn't change their decision for a few thousand dollars.

Yeah, they are going out of business. Volvo is now owned by the Chinese, the quirky little Swedish car manufacturer you once knew is gone. The flagship S80 is now made in Malaysia. It's the new State communist car, want one?

Sounds like France wants to go out of business also!

Perhaps times are changing. You'll find the pie plate rather uncormfortable when cycling which may be part of the future.
