I had to use jumper cable from battery to starter on my MF last winter, until i got around to changing the battery terminal.

As for Digital Multi-Meters Walmart ( auto department ) Has a great DMM for $20. - $30. Innova 3320 red - has every thing you would want in a meter , including buzz and a battery tester I use 1 a week to test AA AAA batteries . A must have !
About the class. I was half serious and half joking. How would we handle the distances involved? But seriously who would drive all this way to hear me pontificate in a classroom/laboratory setting. E?
Seriously, for the basic vehicle troubleshooting, the cheapest meter sold by Harbor Freight will suffice. I'm talking like $5.00 here.
There for a while those were the same ones on the "Free with purchase" coupons HF mails out. I think between Dad and myself we have about a half dozen of them laying around. Don't mind dragging these out to be banged and knocked (or loaned). Saves wear & tear on my nicer equipment that I leave on the bench. And at that price point, definitely worth the "cost". LOL
Chris you kept a good sense of humor in all of this.
The problem with meters is that I use so infrequently I have to start over learning each time I use it.
