Storing tractor and implements outside or under a roof?

I have to pour water on the grounding rod for my electric fence because the ground is so dry the fence will not work.

I was just talking to a friend bemoaning the fact that he doesn't have a big she'd and had to replace 2 dry rotted tires this hay season. I had the thought to just paint the tires. Think it would work?

Better have a flexible paint when dried. He could just place some plywood between the tire and the sun.:)

Thanks;
Of course, I take pictures when it looks best. If you saw my place now you'd be saying "man you live in a desert"! :laughing:

You mean you don't?

I thought I could fool some. I'm only about 60 miles from the Bonneville Salt Flats. It's pretty much desert all around me.:eek:

30 years ago I worked for a while staying in SLC and commuting out to Skull Valley. Didn't see much but desert? It had its own beauty to it but most of the time it was pretty brown.

And keeping with the OP's question, that is why it's so important to have a shelter of some sort for all the equipment you own. Personally I hate seeing nice equipment just sitting out in the weather day in and day out.

My 'fleet' is expanding with: Case IH tractor, topper mower, Craftsman LT2000, Mitsubishi Animal L200 and several trailers. Nothing is under cover and hasn't been for a couple of years. Reading all your comments I guess I seriously need to arrange shelter, at least a carport as a starter, if I want my equipment to last. My problem is mostly rain and wet conditions - we don't have much of a sunshine problem in the UK!!!

The only waterproof machines in UK are the submarines boyo. Build a shelter that allows air-flow added to rain protection.

I had a 30'x24' shop built to store tractor and its attachments. Shop is air conditioned and heated. Also have enough room to do other things.
