Yes I was without it. Dealer claimed parts were unavailable. I'm not sure what was going on. Seams like the kioti dealer network is a joke. I've ordered the same parts again and when they come in the tractor will be split again and fixed then sold. I'll be buying a different kind of orange tractor witch I should have in the first place

I will be doing the same if it takes that long.

Unless your dealer orders a replacement transmission, it's unlikely he will be able to use X-ray vision to figure out which parts are going to be needed before splitting the tractor.
That is unless there is a known issue with these transmissions where they all leak from the same seal or wherever.
That might be worthwhile inquiring about, even here, as to what parts were ordered to fix the trannys that were repaired instead of replaced....

I don't know how tractor transmissions work but in all the light duty truck transmission work I have done you can get a master seal kit for under 200 bucks. I guess it's not the same for tractors were the seals are cheap.

A good dealer network should easily know what parts will be needed. These transmissions are pretty simple and I think there's only three lip seals and one main gasket. No need for X-ray vision if the dealers knew what they were doing. At least in southern/ central Ontario Canada all the kioti dealers are back woods crappy dealerships that can't get a good franchise or there atv and snowmobile dealers that sell kioti but don't know anything about them.

I bought my tractor new and have babied it thinking this would be the only tractor I would need to by for the rest of my life. At the time a name brand tractor of equal size was about 5k more then the kioti. I've easily spent the extra 5k on this kioti so if I could do it again I'd spend the extra and not bought the kioti. Not that the green or orange don't have there problems I'm sure but at least when there is a problem there would be parts and knowledge readily available

I've done about 3 or 4 of these and they're a pain in the but. There are so many orings and places to leak it's hard to figure out where the leak is coming from. After splitting the tractor you try to find a leak trail but you end up seeing oil everywhere. There are pipes that come from the rear trans going to the hst and if you damage the oring when installing the two halves together then too bad. You don't find that out until you put it all back together and find it leaking again. Then you have to take it apart and start all over on your own dime. After doing 2 tractors and splitting them three times i bought a Snap on scope so I could see inside and was able to locate that leak but most are hard to find and it's kind of trial and error. It's the same thing as hearing a knock in the engine and knowing what parts to buy and only fixing that one thing. Chances are darn near the whole engine should be rebuilt. What i do now is reseal everything i can, put the case back together with care and hope for the best but you never really know until you start it.

The ck series have a problem with the trans leaking. Mine was split 3 times at 2 different dealers with 48 hours on it ( I bought it new with 6 hours on it). As soon as it was fixed (the 3 time), I traded it in on a dk 40 that i have been very happy. I seriously believe Kioti should have to do more than just hold people hostage while your tractor is being repaired, multiple times over several months (7 for me). After the first repair (he had to split it twice as it leaked after the first repair), it starting leaking in the first hour. I brought tractor back to the dealer and it pretty much sat for 7 weeks as he hemmed and hawed that he couldn't find the leak ( it was dripping when I picked it up, lol). He didn't want anything to do with it the second time, as he said they weren't going to pay him again (was wIting to get paid the first time) for warranty work. The second dealer, was much better to deal with. They said that the whole trans had to be replaced (I didn't care what they did, I wanted no part of a ck series again). I traded in to him and bought the dk 40.
While I was in the middle of the dispute with kioti corp. and the first dealer, I learned of several others with ck series tractors who had identical, reoccurring leaks out of the the trans. I think it's a design issue that they hope will go away.

After an unsuccessful split to try and fix the leak I now look at my ol' CK leak as a positive feature. It gets half a quart or so of fresh hydraulic fluid every year... so I'll never have to drain and refresh the whole system all at once!! Thanks to the Kioti design team!! Great feature!! Got a cheap boot tray on the garage floor under it!!

Sorry I missed your post earlier.

What was leaking?

I have had my CK30 for more than 12y now without this problem, tho I lose at least
a few quarts a year to leaks in hoses, cyls, etc.

I have never been inside a Kioti HST, but have been inside of Kubota, JD, McCormick,
and TYM units. They all had shaft seals, of course, but few O-rings. Not a lot to leak that
I could see.

Been hoping for a broken DaeDong HST CUT to come my way, but so far, nada.

Can we do a poll on how many tractors or serial numbers that this is affecting? I've got a CK35 without issues but this thread has me a bit concerned.

Another datapoint. I changed my HYD filter and fluid at 50 hours. Did everyone else that had issues do the same?
