F150 2.7 Ecoboost?

It gets the best mpg in sport mode, without my foot hard on it. Keep in mind that I am a conservative driver that keeps to, or just above, the speed limit. Oh, I don't mind the 'speeders', just don't complain when you can't push someone out of your way.

That is about the way I drive. Wife has called me "Gramps" when I drive since we were in our 20s. The 2.7 lower engine is built stout so no surprise there are few engine issues.

I'm really not sure just how they drove the 2.7 to get that poor mileage. I've never gone below 20 unless I'm pulling my trailer. Most folks over on the F150 forums also report much better gas mileage from the 2.7, both unloaded & towing up to ~6Klbs.

Wow - inconsistent data again. What to do? I have the 5 L, and my lease is up in April.
What should I get?

I would suggest a lengthy test drive of each engine you're considering, in similar trucks/trims. Everyone's driving habits are different, and each engine will respond differently to them. It's splitting hairs, really, as all the current F150 engines are stellar. There are no bad choices, just better ones for YOUR situation.

If the gas mileage is that close, I'm going with the 5 L. The engine is simpler, and it has a much nicer roar than the eco-boost engines when you punch it!👍

Found this interesting:
Which F15 engine would a Ford Technician pick? - YouTube

Seems the mechanics at that dealership agree with buying the 5.0- if they have to work on the engine.
Ok, I have a 5.0 so I should like that video. The problem is, those mechanics seem out of touch. They said they would choose the 5.0 because it can tow mow (wrong), has more power (wrong), and that you don't have to "be on it" to get power (wrong). I like my 5.0, but none of those reasons are valid.
