A month or so back, I had been mowing w. my CT230. I decided to was the finish mower off then decided to was the tractor off. After I washed the tractor, I jumped on, started her up and moved the tractor about 50 feet so I could finish cleaning up. At that point I hopped back on the tractor and it would not start. I could hear the solenoid click when I turned the key, but that was it. Spent about an hour looking around, checking connections before I found the problem. A rock had fallen down the hole in the floor for the hydo pedal and somehow lodged itself under the actuator for the safety switch for the hydro pedal. I was seriously close to calling a service tech out. I would have been pretty embarrassed if I had to pay a service tech to find that problem.

Other than that, I still love my CT230, it's done everything I've asked her to do. Great little tractor.

It is a design problem. It has happened to me several times while running a rotary cutter. It is usually a leaf or a well placed stem. The micro switch and several things under the tractor see more action than they should. A few shields and a guard for the oil filter would be at the top of my list. The radiator seems easier to clog with debris than other tractors I have used.

Forgot to add, If it won't start after it has been running fine, It is almost for sure a safety switch.

That switch freezes on mine while blowing snow all the time and I have to get off the tractor, which then quits, and get underneath it to push that switch back down. It gets a little aggravating.

Why is it quitting? Are you not setting the break?

Try spraying the area first with silicone spray and then keep some of the cold weather Rain -X in a bottle and squirt it once in a while. Snow will not stick to that stuff. Us it on my TV dish too.
