Thus the reason why you want protection, you need to learn to protect yourself.

As stated before, and it's been given in court, the police have no duty to protect you.

My wife however has been informed that if I'm away for work overnight, she knows the drill with the boys in the house. When the call has been made to police, no matter what circumstance, she informs them that shots have been fired and that she is armed, and that the police need to come with sirens down the driveway and when they enter the home to inform her that they are there.

Honestly, even with shots fired, I give them a 50/50 chance to make it within a reasonable amount of time, but I do hope it puts a fire under their butt.

But hey, NO ONE would ever want to break into your home would they?

The last thing I would do is call someone to protect me so don't assume that I did, a German Shepherd will tell me what's going on and my P226 and shotgun will take of the rest if a situation comes to protect myself and my family.

It's no secret that there are a handful (albeit a very very small percentage overall) of bad officers, or bad lawyers, or bad accountants, or bad... Whatever.

I would never equate a bad cop to a bad accountant or similar profession. A bad cop is MUCH WORSE. An accountant has no power over me, they can't pull me over, they don't walk up to my car with a gun, they can't arrest me, they can't cite me for a crime. There is zero allowance in my mind for bad police behavior, same as there is zero allowance for alcohol in an airline pilot while in flight. Zero. They have a badge on and they are representing the LAW. I'm not talking about a cop making a mistake, I am talking about about cops that willfully operate in violation of the truth.

Regardless of the stereotypical personality types that make people want to become LEOs (or any authority figure) etc...
...They all develop two persona's, one the public sees and one their peers see...if you've ever been "around cops, around other cops in a work environment" you understand...they don't earn brownie points with their comrades by patting the do-good public on the back for not committing traffic offenses etc...

Never give up your rights . If you are willing to freely give them up. they may just be taken away.
Here, I have no duty to inform, or even produce a permit when asked.
If I'm a driver of the stopped vehicle, the only item I'm required to produce is, a valid DL and Proof of insurance. Nothing else will be offered

I've noticed thru the last 100 posts or so the LEOs have chosen to step away. You think that's because they are "bad" LEOs or because they are familiar with the negativism being displayed?

I "Back the Blue".

They are probably embarrassed at the behavior that some of them do, and even more embarrassed that some of us are on to their behavior, know our rights, and aren't afraid to call out someone doing something wrong under the color of law.

Some of you guys are putting a little to much into this.. I haven't had much interaction with leo's but I have called on them on several occasions and each time I did I received NO help from them whatsoever so I'm pretty sure there are many that don't there jobs well at all, there people like everyone else, you have losers just like in any other job, putting them all up on pedestals is foolishness..

Yes, every profession has its problem childs, those that just don't do their job good.

The difference is position of trust.

The kid that wipes the table and brings the food to the table ( DRA/expeditor ).. When they do their job wrong.. People don't go to jail.. When a cop does his wrong.. Someone can ;)

Ps, I'm pro rule of law, and not anti authority.

I think I've had one traffic stop in 25 years. In that stop ( a 100% speed trap by the way... But I digress ) I handed the officer my license and CWP. Police asks if I have a gun. I replied, yes, a SIG p230.

Officer perked up, mentions he was interested in them , but hadn't seen one in person. I said, well, I you'd lil to take a look at mine, I'd be glad to oblige. He said sure, I told him where it was, asked him not to shoot me, and slowly retrieved it, removed it from its holster, dropped the mag, cleared it twice, handed it the loose mag and holster over so he could feel the weight. He handled it a bit, we talked, at son point he mentions in getting a warning, we talk more, I get my gun back, drive off.

I *think* my gun got me a warning.

There, positive police story, happy ending.

The last I checked, a M3A1 was going for over $15,000. You got one on your backhoe, I wouldn't worry about it as you could probably buy your way out of any trouble:D

Holy smokes, they actually called a grease gun! And it even looks a little bit like one! Things just keep getting curiouser and curiouser. (Now where did I hear that before?)

A call for protection shows you are in fear for your life AND it's documented that you tried to get help from the local police.

Ps, I'm pro rule of law, and not anti authority.

Keep in mind, there is a difference being anti authority and not trusting all authority.

History has shown, even in our own country, that power can corrupt.

Not a case of being against authority. It's a case of being against abuse of authority.
Police have no more rights than the average citizen
