So while your away someone breaks the door open your wife is sound asleep, she should fumble for the phone instead of protecting herself?? No a good idea, you need to rethink your instructions..

My wife would report that shots have been fired as well. Thats because the intruder is probably laying there with two or more .38 rounds in his chest.

Sometimes you have a funny way of explaining what your thinking.. No beer here, I don't drink but thanks for assuming I do..

The most likely explanation for your dumbfounding response to my response on YOUR own quote is that being this is a long thread, you got mixed up on what I was quoting. Instead of admitting a mistake, you decided to resort to name calling in your own ignorance. I only returned the favor.

I have no idea what you are talking about, carry on, you seem to have everything figured out all by yourself.

Per your smart *** remark at the end of your comment...

LOL.. Over the years I called them a few times for issues that had nothing to do with protection, can you understand that??? I mean are you thick or what...

Yep, The same constitution that applies to me applies to them

In theory, yes, but defacto.. Police discretion usually operates in their favor. Refer to: blue shield. Some cops are bad, some cops protect bad cops, unfortunately...

It's absolutely absurd to me that we even have to have these conversations. To have to do all these things out of fear for our lives. Are we not innocent til proven guilty IN THE COURT OF LAW!? Cops are the judge and jury nowadays and many dress like they just left a drug raid and went back to traffic duty. Look, I'm not a left or right wing nut, I'm just a normal guy with a kid in a car seat getting pulled over with hand on unclipped gun for a "routine" stop or in most cases some other unknown reason and treated guilty until proven innocent. I grew up in a Leo family, spent most of my childhood on the academy range or in the defensive tactics mat drill classes. I rarely see any of these shootings start and end with anything resembling the smallest amount of training. Obviously a few bad apples spoil the bunch and some things go awry real quick and these guys have to just survive. I just dont get it tho. There needs to be reform for training, requirements and personality testing. U also don't need a guy who went to a upper class mostly all (input race) private school whose never had any kind of encounter with someone of another race or creed assigned to any district or zone where he's sure to have his very first encounter under a fear of the unknown. Doctors, mechanics and other fields have to partake in clinicals, new training and performance tests based on the always changing world around us. Why do most cops only have to qualify once a year? Most gunowners shoot an enormous amounts of rounds in comparison to them. Growing up I remember cops and prison guards coming to our house for private lessons from my grandfather (range master and instructor at local schools) and to fire rounds on our range. ALL OF THEM ALWAYS needed remediation. Almost all of them had not fired a round since the last years remediation. Also, the defensive tactics are really never practiced. These guys don't get overweight (for their height and build) and out of shape by going to the dojo or gym twice a week. I'm talking heart elevation training, situational training etc. These to be documented requirements in our country. A dr has anesthesia and a scalpel that could end your life and they're requirements put Leo's to shame. Leo carries a gun and a computer that could end your life literally or with charges and their requirements are literally nothing in comparison to even an IT guy in a competitive market. We don't need to get rid of guns to protect cops or fit them like the military. We need competent, confident, secure individuals that level headed and join the field to make a difference, not to have a chance to be like what they see on cops or YouTube videos. Rant over, my apologies if I offended you, that's just my 2¢

Some of you guys could really benefit from joining a citizens Police academy, or trying to go on a ride-along with a patrol officer working a busy beat near you. You might learn a new appreciation for what their lives, and jobs, are actually like... And how/why decisions are made the way they are.

Not like it hasn't already been said a number of times in this thread... But i still haven't seen any of you clowns signing up for the Police academy so you can show the profession how you're apparently the long awaited Messiah of Law Enforcement, here to bring balance to the Police Force.

Good God, some of you are so arrogant to think you really know more about how anyone should do their jobs than the professionals that are already doing it. Put your money where your mouths are and go join up. Or will you just continue to sit there like a coward and squak about the men of action actually doing something out there.

Shame...

Beaver,

Not everything in the world is like it was for you growing up in Mayfield. You haven't experienced the lifetime effect of what a bad cop can do to your family.

Don't be late for dinner,
Ward and June.

that's right. If he knew the laws he could talk to some cops to see how well they are versed in the laws where he lives. Here, many cops don't even know the laws they are hired to enforce.
I can site many of the state gun laws here, and the cops have no clue as to what I'm speaking about
