Getting a bit off topic...
I'm not judging other's morality. I think hunting is a great sport/activity, but it's just not for me.
I'm not a vegetarian, completely...but not much of a meat eater because I really don't have a taste for it anymore.
So, I suggest we lay off the morality aspect and get back into the firearms we carry or keep close at hand...as I type this, I have a .38SPL revolver in the desk drawer...
One thing I cant stand is Topic Police, to me firearms and hunting go hand in hand, hunting and pest control are almost the same thing and that's what this thread was about. I wasn't even referring to you or vegetarians, I dont eat much meat myself, so I suggest you stop reading my post and welcome to my ignore list........I have had enough of you.

WOW, was 2 pages behind and just caught up...shocked at some of the thinking on here. So instead of quoting you I will just post and if the shoe fit...
Animals: I hate to kill an animal of any kind unless it poses any threat to me, my family, my dogs or livestock or it makes good eating.
Guns: Got my first at age 5, single shot 22.
Gun control is hitting your target and I practice one shot one kill.
Better to HAVE and not need then to NEED and not have
When seconds count the police are only minutes away. Or in my case, average time from the 911 call till a LEO arrives is 23 min. Wonder what a couple of bad guys can do in your home with your family and property in 23 min???
The ONLY people that stop BAD guys with guns is GOOD guys with guns, no matter the color of their clothing, be it a Blue Uniform or just a pair of Blue jeans.
Anyone without a gun, is dependent upon someone WITH a gun!
I believe in choice. You can chose to be a victim or a victor.
The ONLY reason you have Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion is because of the 2nd Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
Meat: I did not spend 70+ years climbing the food chain to get where I am at to eat sticks, weeds and gravel...

.357 Mag rifle: Interesting, I certainly like it in a pistol, but have no idea of its ability to perform as a rifle? Then I have to ask what is it used or and at what range are you working with it?
