Perils of retirement

   / Perils of retirement #141
You know I sure get a kick out of reading these stories fellas, I have only been married 10 years but I see alot of myself in them. I use as few dishes as possible since i hate washing them. I am already banished from doing laundry even though i did it for years when I lived by myself. She cringes when I tell her the whole basket gets dumped in and washed. Its to the point that I'm not even able to fold towels correctly due to her OCD coming out.

I had to put in a 2nd clothes washer and dryer for the wife.

All this is so true! I've been married almost 43 yrs now. I was a bachelor for a few years and took care of all of it myself. But now, I'm not allowed to do laundry or wash dishes, with an occasional exception. Mostly, because I can't seem to do it the way she wants, even though I try. I've also put in a 2nd washer for my shop clothes although I was a licensed pesticide operator at the time.

I had to put in a 2nd clothes washer and dryer for the wife. She does not think her clothes should be washed in anything that washed my cow poop, grease and dirt laden clothes. Picky picky.
Funny, when we got married, my wife worked for a dairy farm and it was her who's clothes stunk things up. 8 years after she left the farm, her truck that she used to drive to the farm STILL smell like cow when it is hot out...

I'm taking this thread as humor..... :)

I never considered my career as my life. My career was how I paid for my life. There was not one single negative to retirement. :)

Very well said!

I would not trade my life or wife for anything. I enjoy being retired and wouldn't live very long single.(I would sit in my chair eating beef jerky and drinking Dr Pepper until dead). A good woman helps save you from yourself.

My faults are many. Hers, very few. I may leave toast crumbs in the butter but it's okay in the grand scheme of things. She uses a knife and spoon to make a PB&J sandwich, how silly is that? I simply use a knife to spread the peanut butter, wipe it on the bread then dig out the jelly with same knife. Sounds perfectly sane to me.

If i did that, my wife would die when she got jelly that had a peanut butter knife in it.

I knew it! This has to be a conspiracy against Men. Where do women get this training, as they all seem to think alike? There should be book that explains all this.
