My wife was feeding around 30 cats, 20 or so had names. I have them down to around 14 and taking 1-2 a week to the shelter. The ones left that I can handle are all sweethearts that I’m going to hate taking away. But the job is left to me.

A chilly morning. -4 going to +5F. Wind NW 5 mph. 30% chance of flurries. We did get about an inch of snow yesterday. I will leave that.

I've got a dump run today and a trip to Sundridge (5 miles South of me) is in the plan. I will incorporate the trip into the dump run. I also have a package to pick up at the courier drop off point. It is funny, Purolator drives right past here to get to the Township office and wont turn in and yet both UPS and Fedex will deliver right to the door. In fact Fedex delivered my tire chains last year and even put them in the portable shelter (I was out) and left. Nobody in the house knew he was here.

Have a good day, all.

had a delicious and unhealthy breakfast down the street at the local grill, listened to the farmers,
many not putting in winter wheat because there is no money in it. Commodity pricing is down. Maybe that helps
the animal growers for less expensive feed, don't know if that helps, like cheaper jet fuel for airlines.
If they grow their own feed, I guess no impact.

friend sent me link to this video, a favorite song from way back when,
saying he hopes it won't become the national anthem of South Korea

Good morning! 43˚ going to be a wet day.
I find it easier to post the pic from my iPhone and then edit on the notebook to add text, so there might be a bit of a delay from seeing a pic to getting the narrative.

I harvested the Fall potatoes yesterday. As you might remember it was covered with 4" of snow and then two mornings of frost. There was no freezing temps forecasted but it got down to 29˚. I was hoping to get to January before the cold killed them. The small crop did yield about twice as many potatoes as I planted so I did come out ahead if you don't count the bale of hay I bought ($17) to keep them from freezing and the time to prepare the garden, plant and harvest the crop.

The beans also died. Left alive are broccoli, beets and cilantro.

Good morning all. 20 outside this AM. Nice blanket of frozen over the fields. Eldest came home, she finished another degree. Tears in my eyes, and way less green in the wallet. She will assist when we get back in a month or so. Those prayers are working. Looks like everything is in place. Ahh, Monday is now travel day. Slight change of plan, there. Tuesday and Wednesday are the surgery days. Look to be 4-6 hours, then 8-12 hours. I would like to know how those doctors do that. I know they have fellows and partners and whatnot, but that is a long time to be messing on someone and be paying attention.

I guess my new hobby and attention will be in another world next week. My mind races between foreboding and being totally blank. I am having a hard time focusing on a positive outcome. I am not sure what to make of it.

Me, I think I need to move a standing clock today. The piano as it showed up, started this three to four day cascade of changes with furniture. Living room, front porch, study all were in a state of flux. But there are smiles all around, so my back takes it. I must be stressed since I think I retired at 8PM last night and started poking the TBN crowd just now, coffee in hand. Unheard of as I am usually up and about from 4AM until 11PM.

It's the holidays for sure with the US Mail. Some friends of friends are now sending Christmas cards out to us. I think that is special as others keep their friends wishes going, as they cannot. I will respond in kind today. It is a good thing when one can count on others.

Happy Holidays all. Be safe.

Kubota dealer did not have the pin for the lower link on the 3PH, so I had them order one. Should be in by Tuesday/Wednesday. It will be my luck to discover the one that fell out now I that I've went ahead and ordered it ...

Isn't that how it's supposed to work? :confused2:

FWIW, I've had decent luck with the $50 metal detector Harbor Freight sells. Don't forget your 20% off coupon if you get one.
