Considering the population of the United States, 100 people a year isn’t that bad. I’d say it’s mostly out of shape old people that couldn’t handle any strenuous activity.

According to google 10 people in the USA drown a day on average and 1.3 million die each year in car accidents, but yet lets make a big deal about the 100 that die snow shoving. People are incredibly poor about risk assessment.
