Buying a 30-40 HP Compact Tractor

Hello everyone,

Merry Christmas! This is my first post at this forum.

I will be buying a 30-40 HP compact tractor in the spring of 2018. Leaning towards the Deere 2032R or 2038R. I like the idea of removing the FEL assembly and easy(?) removal of the mid-mount mower.

Is Deere the only manufacturer which has these two features in this HP range?

Yanmar YT-235 , 34 HP , has both of these features along with the SSQA which is really nice

Yanmar has the YT235, 35hp, mid PTO for mid mount mower, auto throttle, cruise control, 3 range HST, 100% made in Japan. Yanmar has built every JD engine under 50hp for the past thirty years and has built entire tractors for JD as well.

Kubota has the B3350, 33hp, with similar features as the Yanmar above except I don't believe it has auto throttle. Kubota also has the L3560 and L4060, much larger heavier high feature machines.

I'm sure Kioti, LS, Branson, and TYM have offerings in that range but I'm not up on the model numbers. These are Korean tractors that offer a lot of bang for the buck.

Assuming you're in Marietta, GA you're a 40 min drive to the Yanmar assembly plant in Adairsville, and a 1hr drive to the Kubota assembly plant in Gainesville, GA. John Deere plant is near Augusta, GA.

My FEL looks easy to take off but I've never seen a reason to remove. Why would you?

I remove my loader often for mowing the lawn and brush mowing. More maneuverable and rides better with the loader off mowing IMO.
Its just like any other attachment, I put it on when I need it and take it off when I don't.

Well duh, I guess that makes sense. OP was talking about mowing. Guess i don't think about that since i don't think of a tractor as a mower. Carry on.

Yes I am! Although I have to say I did not realize Yanmar was in Adairsville! I wonder if any any of these facilities provide factory tours for prospective customers.

Deere and Kubota both have many dealerships to choose from, However it appears Yanmar is very limited in that regard.

Yes, Yanmar provides factory tours. Private message Yanmar Tractor on Tractorbynet and they should be able to hook you up.

I'd be willing to bet that Kubota and JD offer factory tours as well but I'm not sure who you'd contact for that.

I have a Kubota Grand L 4610 HSTC which is rated 39 HP at the PTO. The FEL is made to easily unmount in the field where it remains standing for ease or remounting. My salesman demonstrated that to me when the tractor was delivered. A while later I did it myself, once. Tractor is about 15 years old and I have never done another R&R of the loader even if it is not all that hard.

Incorrect. Mid-PTO is an option on all Grand L models. Not available on the economy L models.
