Hello Fallon... New Trailer 1-2-2018 (2).JPGNew Trailer 1-2-2018 (3).JPGMy Diamond C trailer came in the other day. I ordered it. 24 foot model 45HDT. I got the full length rub rails/stake pockets, and lockable chain tray in the tongue.

Congrats. I regret getting the power tilt a bit when loading or unloading the tractor. But never when loading & unloading anything else, so I'm happy with it. Minor oil seepage on one of the cylinder, but haven't gotten under there to check it out (and probably tighten up a fitting).

Love how this thing tows still.

Need to weatherproof the deck here soon now that it's had a chance to dry & cure. Still figuring out what to use for that.

Just my opinion...I think in the long run the power tilt would mean more maintainance and more things to go wrong. I think you did the right thing.

What do you regret about the power tilt? Is it because you have to get in or out of the tractor while tilted? If so, you can add a remote function.
For my deck I treat it with a 50/50 mix of diesel and used oil. It soaks right in and I haven't noticed the deck being slippery. Other have used linseed oil or Thompsons water seal.

On other trailers I have had, I brushed undiluted used oil on the decks. I never thought about diluting it with diesel. It was a bit thick. I will do that on this deck after it gets dried out more.

Also...I was wondering...how do you get your pictures to go to the bottom of the post with the writing at the top? My pictures posted at the top in between the writing. It used to not be that way. What do I need to change?

My deck is 22' and it takes just about 2 gallons to coat it. I wait till a nice hot day and lay it on heavy. It soaks in almost as fast as I can lay it on. Previous 20' trailer was 10 years old when I sold it and deck still looked new.

It's steep, well over double the angle of a gravity tilt. Price a bit too, but that's a fading memory at this point.

My old gravity tilt barely had any angle on it (just like redbugs new one). If I back on to the deckover, I have to sometimes throw it into 4wd depending on what impliment I have on. It's also a little climb to throw chains on or get into the cab. I didn't need to climb on top of the deck to get a chain over the bumper or what not with my old undersized gravity tilt.

All in all, not enough for me to wish I'd gone gravity tilt, but enough to annoy me at times.

It has a wired remote & wireless keyfob remote so I can tilt it level when I get all 4 tires on & am inching forward. Works well.
