Good morning!!!!

5 outside this AM up here. The wind looks to have died down a little. It's not something to be taken lightly. Yesterday the wife and I managed to "walk" to the hotel lobby. It was brutal down there, looking outside at ground level. From our room view the gusts would just white out certain areas. Well at ground level it was the sidewalks. Yikes!

Buckeye, that's good news. Surgery's are always with risk.
wngsprd, you bet on the countdown. It's time to get home. My only gripe up here is the pharmacy runs the doctors have made me do. I think I have visited over eight different ones, due to their uncoordinated efforts in getting prescriptions called in. But, it's all goodness now.

Unfortunate, my wife saw on facebook that a neighbors barns burned down while we were up here. No animals were injured, but now I bet they are looking for infrastructure to help them get through this weather. That's got to be devastating. I hope to help when we get back.

I've also had problems with the retaining bolts on the FEL pins. In one instance, I found that the nut end was long enough that it was catching on something and shearing off. Reversing the bolt solved the problem.:2cents:

-2F with a with windchill of -21F @ 05:40

Just went outside in my boots and tightly-whiteys and started The Woman's van to warm it up ... sitting on the seat was kinda painful.

Now that there's True Love.

Yer lucky you didn't have to call the fire department to get yer scrawny butt unstuck from that seat.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I did my work last night after work...waste of time since the wind blew it back across the drive. Fortunately, as I'd written in an earlier post...we didn't get much...3 inches or so.
I was concerned about the tractor starting...even with the block heater. It's been so cold, I expected the battery to be weak...but my fears were unfounded...the Deere started right up!
............................
Looks heavy snow showers headed for us 1"+ and w/this wind betting some spots heavy drifting.

Good morning! 40˚ partly cloudy, slight wind from the south, heading to the high 50's. A good day to get on the z and mow the dead weeds down.
I think I'll work on the landing strip today. It's not really quite long enough to land on but it provides a view of one of my ponds as you are driving up the drive way. When the utility company was clearing their right of way of mesquite with a front end mulched I paid them extra to make the strip. I'll see if I can get a before and after pic. I've been picking up thorns for 3 years so this will be the fist time I'll attempt to drive on it with air tires. I hardly ever get flats. (sarcasm).

Buckeye Good plan to give the body a chance to heal. I checked my BH bucket bolt, it's secure.
Get some sleep Ed.
Randy I thought everyone in a nursing home has to have the flu vaccine.
ETW, is your new tractor going to have a cab?

No snow here, it's raining and the ground is already saturated.

Not good conditions for getting the tractor out, but thats irrelevant today as I've agreed to go on a shopping trip with my wife for house furnishings. No tractor parts, fishing tackle, gun or tool shops. Not normally my idea of a fun day, however after what some of you have gone through, I will just be thankful to have her by my side and try not to squirm too much when I see the price tags.

I have found a stealth maneuver that may help. Close your eyelids before you roll your eyes. Just be sure to do it expediently, not to give her notice that said eyelids are closed too long. Or turn away, pretending to see something else your interested in at said moment.

RS, funny, but not a pretty mental image....but true love none the less.

Prayers for all, especially Randy, BEF, Rip and wife, and Ed to get some rest too. Buppies, are you feeling better?

Drew, let nature and time melt your snow and relax your muscles in the hot tub.

Grand jury callup for me today. Not sure if I want to get picked.

Wifey just brought me my water processed Columbian decaf coffee. Pretty darn good. she made it a wee bit too strong.

45F, on a dark, dank, humid morning. Seems worse than the 20F days with 20% relative humidity, except my lips aren't cracking.

Question for northerners, I have a short dog (chihuahua), how do short female dogs go outside to do their business if the snow is taller than their underbelly? Is that why all northern dogs have long legs? What a dilemma...

Y'all have a great day.

Grand jury callup for me today. Not sure if I want to get picked.

When I served on the Grand Jury, there was no process of picking jurors...everyone called was to serve. I was disappointed in the overall process...not a lot of evidence presented and seemed like almost a rubber stamp of the prosecution's case to send to trial...but a different threshold applied...not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt...instead, does a preponderance of the evidence indicate a need for a trial.

Kind of like a sniff test to see if something stinks.
