Oregon Drivers Can Now Learn To Pump Their Own Gas

My '59 and '60 Impalas have the filler behind the tag, squarely in the middle. The needle is correct when the tank is half full though! I know. I cheated. Antiques don't count...and then there's the Model A...which has a float, if I recall correctly, not a needle.

correct and the filler dead center....of the hood right in front of the windshield.

Nice restorations.

We went out to dinner at Bodega Bay last night. In the parking lot was a flawlessly restored MGA open roadster, a real showpiece, left with the lights on. I went over to see if I could reach over and turn them off. The dashboard was immaculate, obviously all restoration parts and freshly detailed. Your photos reminded me of that.

But I found the stereo playing softly as well as the lights on. So I walked away without touching it. There had to be an alarm in there that would have sounded if I touched anything, I think.

The pickup photo is on Treasure Island... it was a total basket case and in pieces and a fun project... I can't take credit for the Roadster...

The Sport Coupe to the right of the pickup was mine before I sold it.

I've hauled sacks of concrete from Home Depot with the pickup. ;-)

I wonder what Oregon drivers do when they leave Oregon and need to fill-up?

They stand and cry, stamp their feet and blame ...........

Pretty sure that's not true either. My Ram truck and my wife's Durango have left fill and right gauge.

You might want to double check your cars. They must have been totaled out and cobbled together from rebuilt wrecks. :D

Being in Washington we would often get Oregon drivers up here that would pull up to the gas pump and sit there like someone was going to come out and pump their gas :D

After a short time they would get out of their car and stare at the pump about which time I would get out of my rig and help them. From time to time I would have a little fun and point to their exhaust pipe and tell them the gas goes in there. :D

I would always stop them of course.:D
