Why the mower check chains on the B2650? My understanding is they are usually used to set the height of the front of the mower. The B2650 has position control for the 3 Pt lift, and a stop to control how far down the lift will go.

Set the front mower height as desired. Then loosen the stop at the bottom of the slot for the lift control lever. Move the stop up against the lift control lever. Now when you lower the mower the lift arms and front of the mower will return to the same height every time.

that's a very good idea and i feel like and idiot for not thinking of it. thank you for pointing it out. i do it with the bush hog. never even crossed my mind to use it with the rear mount. i just have always used the chains. yes it does have position control, that was one of the benefit of this model over some of the used ones with 1/4 inching. i will try it tomorrow for the last cutting

cut the grass yesterday. took the bucket off to make the tractor smaller. I will need to take the loader off to next year, but for the one time it was fine. hydro was nice for backing into a couple of places that i would normally skip most times cutting. The 2650 turned tighter, might be the steering geometry or the power steering, my favorite thing so far. medium range at PTO speed is a little slower than 6th gear in the JD at PTO speed. It will take me a couple more times to get use to the size and how it handles.

probably cut the leaves one more time and then to the shop to weld on the bucket and clean up the mower.

When I ordered my factory rear remote kit on my B2601 I noticed that the B2650 valves had the same part number and mount the same way on the right side transaxle with the levers coming up through the right fender.

the tractor has sat in the garage for a while, but yesterday i fired it up and use the bucket to spread some gravel back onto the driveway that wound up in the grass after the last snow. then it went to the shop for a job today in baltimore. we were going up to pick up a bunch of shop and wood working equipment, workbenches, table saws, jig saws, drill presses, bandsaws, etc. so i took the finish mower off added a 200 hunk of steel and put the forks on the front then loaded it. today we got up to baltimore with 5 guys 3 trucks/3 trailers and started loading, we had one trailer loaded before the police showed up and we had to unload since somewhere along the line the left hand didn't communicate with the right hand. on the ride home our contact asked if we were still coming today, told him too late. i think they will wind up throwing away most of the stuff as opposed to giving it to some non profits. waste of time, but the tractor was a big help loading and unloading.

there was a high school shop class closing. the stuff hasn't been used in 20 years. one of our guys used to teach there and he had a verbal okay from someone to pick up and distribute the equipment to local non profits, someone else thinks that it should all be thrown away.

It's kind of like the grocery stores. All the out of code stuff gets throw in the dumpsters rather than to the workers. The fear is that the workers would hide the stuff off the selves then say: "Look at what I found; it's out of code."

missed the little tractor today. it is still at the shop since last weeks failure. i ordered weld on bucket hooks and weld on 2" receiver so i figured i'd leave it at the shop till i was done. then put the rake on and bring it home again. well our house has settled some more, maybe it has to do with frost heave, and now we have a door that won't close. so i brought home two 20 ton jacks and a bunch of cribbing. the crawl space is opposite the driveway. all the stuff was in the bed of the truck and since the ground is so wet i didn't want to drive the truck over the ground. so i had to carry everything around by hand. wish i had the bucket of the tractor.
