Bought my 2008 2500HD from local small dealer who had great prices. He got bought out by large multidealer, has lots of trucks, not sure if prices are as good as they used to be.
Just gave him my printout, locked a price & they ordered it.I used the build your own site for my 2011 HD, then contacted the internet sales manager at a dealership near me that was willing to deal as he was looking to add more GM lines
I'm sure there are similar stories with the coin flipped. But that said, I was a chevy guy growing up with a 68 Camaro, a Chevy 1/2 ton pickup, and an S-10 before switching allegiance to Ford. Not that Ford is flawless, my overall satisfaction is better all things considered. Haven't bought either though since my 2006 F150 fully loaded bought new. Full disclosure, I am a BMW 7 series fan. Not for the faint of heart (I mean wallet). My quick answer to OPs question is "you dont" Was a chevy man back in the 80s (hardcore). Had the Chevy hats, t shirts all that jazz. Owned an S10 blazer loaded, Monte Carlo and Barretta. Was screwed over so many times, had so many problems like my rear axle exploding I fought them in court only to reach a stalemate. I will never, never, never by a chevy product again as long as I live. I did not want the government to bail them out and Im still angry about that.
So for me, if someone offers me chevy for free my one and only reaction is to "run away".
What pi$$ed me wasn't the bailout, it was the govt taking GM over, and then selling GM at millions $$ in taxpayer losses. My quick answer to OPs question is "you dont" Was a chevy man back in the 80s (hardcore). The unfair used vehicle tax more than makes up for it.What pi$$ed me wasn't the bailout, it was the govt taking GM over, and then selling GM at millions $$ in taxpayer losses.
My 08 gas has 3.73.I thought that all 2500 HD gassers came with the 4.10 rear end. My 07 Classic WT is configured that way.
Trucks are like tractors. Good used ones go for a mint. Bad used ones go for a small mint. My son just purchased a 4 door crew Chevy Silverado 4x4 with 60K miles in cherry condition. He paid a premium but was still 50% the cost of a new one.
I must add though that my buying experience last year with local Subaru dealer was utterly different. Nice honest people and great service.
But that's not a Chevrolet truck, and GM dealers are, from my experience, seriously old school and full of sharks and inexperienced just hires.
