Good Morning!!!! 42F @ 6:30AM. Cloudy skies early, followed by partial clearing. High 48F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
So when does one officially become a senior citizen? AARP lets you join in your 50s, but I'm sure that's so they can get their hooks into you sooner. Uncle Sam sez I can start collecting Social Security next year; does that do it?:confused2:
Only 0.03" of rain fell here yesterday, and no rain in the forecast for the next ten days. Still way behind the averages for both rain and snow, not good. Not good at all.
Apparently there were tornado warnings up yesterday afternoon for a few hours, but since I was working out in the garage, I didn't notice. A few partial funnel clouds were shown on the news last night, but no word that any of them touched down.
Disassembled and cleaned a turn signal switch for the old motorcycle yesterday. Unlike today's electronics, 54 years ago things were made to come apart, and other than oxidation and dirt, there wasn't much sign of any wear on the contacts. That tiny e-clip was a delight to get back into place, though.
The accompanying brake light switch was riveted together, but I managed to get some DeOxIt inside the housing by taping it to the front of a venturi vacuum attachment running off the air compressor and dowsing the actuator pin. It tested out with a few tenths of an ohm of resistance across the contacts; hopefully that's good enough. Finally got another parts order off last night; mostly fastener replacements for the rusted parts I'm finding that don't look like they were ever plated with anything.
